@neptuneblue,
Lets give them both some ignore. They're got an agenda. I've dealt with LaRuchies before. They will never back off, they will never argue honestly and they turn everything on your attitude as opposed to issues.

You want to fling **** at me but don't expect it back?

When did I use vulgarities?

Quote:
Bringing up abortion and and feminism has absolutely no bearing in this discussion, yet you tried to get a rise out of me. Twice. Well, you finally did.

It was an example to illustrate the point I was making.

And now you're sniffling, crying. Too bad, so sad.

Keep going. And so will I.

You're reacting with disproportionate hostility and justifying it by whatever is triggering you.

So if you bring up abortion as an example in a political debate and someone posts vulgar sexist language at you in response, that's legitimate?

@livinglava,
How is it YOU get to illustrate your point and "I" don't?

So your point is that if you use vulgarities to illustrate your point, that's equivalent to me using an example that doesn't use vulgarity?

So anyone can just say offensive, sexually explicit things to you whenever they feel like it illustrates their point?

You're just a bully who blames the victim. Don't believe me?; watch how you're about to harass me about daring to refer to myself as 'the victim' here.

@livinglava,
Quit throwing mud, and it won't smack you right back in the face.

Quote:
Let me give you an example: everyone who wants sexual liberation wants to rationalize abortion because it removes a huge consequence of sexual indulgence, i.e. pregnancy. But then, you reason that your desire for sex without consequences is outweighed by the goodness of avoiding unnecessary surgery for women and death for fetuses, so reason trumps desire. Now you want to say that someone can choose sexual indulgence over avoiding surgery and fetus-death if they are 'reasonable,' but they are simply avoiding reason in favor of submitting to desire.

What does this have to do with a presidential portrait? Nothing. Nothing at all. You used this as an example for absolutely no reason.

Quote:
If there was a thread entitled, "let's fire all feminists," how would you feel when you showed up defending feminists and you were told you were trolling because the thread is about firing feminists?

Since you want to make up threads, I came up with an excellent one for you to explore.

Quote:
You're just a bully who blames the victim.

You're no victim, you're the perpetrator. You may not like my language, but hey, I don't like your's either. Puts us both on an even playing field,

What you're calling, 'mud,' here is just an example that I explained in a previous post. How is it mud-slinging? Is just the mention of abortion mud-slinging? It's a big political issue, you know?

Quote:

If you would go back and read what I was explaining beyond the superficialities of the examples, you would see that the point wasn't to compare portrait-hanging and abortion on some general level.

You just can't deal with examples, analogies, or anything else meant to illustrate an explanation of a thought, can you?

Quote:

You're no victim, you're the perpetrator. You may not like my language, but hey, I don't like your's either. Puts us both on an even playing field,

See, I told you that you would do exactly this. We're not on an even playing field because you can't understand what I write and I'm more resistant to lashing out with vulgarity and sexually-explicit language than you are.

Your indignation is cracking me up.

You start flinging mud but can't handle it being directly right back at you.

Keep going, so will I.

Remember when I told you that you avoid reason-based discussion and prefer fighting?

That's what you're doing here.

I guess that's all you can really do, though, if you don't understand what you read.

Oh, and sorry in advance for sounding condescending since I'm sure that is all you will take out of what I just typed.

Trump will lose in a landslide because of the economy, new election model predicts
Source: CNN

The economy has gone from President Donald Trump's greatest political asset to perhaps his biggest weakness.

Unemployment is spiking at an unprecedented rate. Consumer spending is vanishing. And GDP is collapsing. History shows that dreadful economic trends like these spell doom for sitting presidents seeking reelection.
The coronavirus recession will cause Trump to suffer a "historic defeat" in November, a national election model released Wednesday by Oxford Economics predicted.

Soldiers of the boogaloo: David Neiwert on the far right's plans for a new civil war
https://www.salon.com/2020/05/18/soldiers-of-the-boogaloo-david-neiwert-on-the-far-rights-plans-for-a-new-civil-war/

CHAUNCEY DEVEGA

excerpt:

. . . Right-wing terrorism is and will be a future template for Trump and his movement against their perceived or real enemies. White neo-fascist violence, and the threat of such violence have consistently escalated during the Age of Trump.

Matters are now so dire that even the New York Times, which views itself as a neutral "journal of record," is sounding the alarm about Trump's armed paramilitary groups. Last Friday, columnist Roger Cohen published an op-ed entitled "The Masked versus the Unmasked" in which he issued this warning:

So much for those resilient checks and balances I lauded to my Colorado neighbor.

Back then, in the bygone era, he wrote to me: "No wonder Republicans are laughing at us. The billionaire politicians have complete control (besides the military at this point), no oversight, and most of their constituents are armed, some heavily, and ready to defend them. Roll over and die? What the hell? Time to even things up. To save this country. Hopefully, guns will always be a deterrent, but they may be our last hope to save this country. Time to gun up, liberals!"

If you prefer, think of "gun up" as get real, get tough, get registered, get mobilized, get implacable and vote Trump out. Or you may just want to go down to the range.

Ultimately, the upcoming presidential election in November will be a test of the United States' ability to have a peaceful transfer of power — assuming the election take place, and assuming Trump is somehow defeated, an outcome that seems increasingly unlikely.

@roger,
I agree, but I think that, at least Pa will go for Biden based on F&M polls. F&M recognized early in 2016 that Hillary was her own worst problem and wasnt meant to talk with the folks of Pa. (F&M predicted Trumps win in mid summer 2016)
His Pa base is mostly older white males and they constituted the moderate plurality he enjoyed in the Keystone.
These are the same voters who, today, are totally pissed at Trump for his messing with OBAMACARE without anything to take its place.

All the "Open AMERICA" demos are nothing more than Trump rallies and, in all states, so far, these rallies are sparsely attended. 200 to 300 people at a rally at the Pa Capitol didnt even match the farm show attendance.

I think Trumps screwed with and threatened to screw with Michigan enough that Biden gets it in a walk, too.

@bobsal u1553115,
I saw the "militia dudes" that showed up in Lansing . They had to stand and be taken in close up because there were less than 150 people there, many armed with banderilas of budweiser.
