Yep, mommie bear out catching dinner while big bear recovers.

Wouldn't it be nice if some of us could get together and have a 'just girls' weekend? Bethie and I have done that a couple of years ago. It really opens up the femme psyche in a profound and often hilarious way. Maybe when the bear is recovered enough to hold down the fort.

My beloved,, my rock, my squinney is in bed sleeping.

Went to my surgeon today and got my staples out and a lecture about not going back to work for six weeks no matter how good I think I feel. Apparently singing will strain exactly the same abdominal muscles in exactly the same way as lifting anything over 20 lbs, sit ups anything like that and I will risk rupturing the abdominal muscles that were sliced open completely during the surgery. Not good news. I've canceled all my gigs until Sept 17, when I have a festival gig that's too lucrative not to do, so there's my drop dead date to be back to 100%.

I think I'm going to have to tough it out and do my karaoke show this Sunday coming though. BPB Jr. and squinney will have to set it up and tear it down the next day and I'll sit down when I have to. Gotta do what ya gotta do to keep the family in Salmon and Seal blubber.

He did say that I seemed much better than my discharge day and was doing well whether it felt like it or not ans that's nice to hear.

I still am having trouble concentrating for extended periods, but I've been on heavy narcotic pain killers for three weeks and doc said it's to be expected. I'm going to try to start weaning myself off this **** though, because I don't like it.

I've decided to never drink again and not chance aggravating my innards.

When you experience extended periods of pain that nothing in this world will control completely, it's a real eye opener I can tell you. I don't need that ****. Nobody does.

Good night dear friends, I hope to be able to post intelligently soon, or at least as understandably as a republican barring that.

Hey! That was intelligent as anything you have ever posted, BVT! Great to see it! And, I'm glad SQ is asleep.

Good to see BigEdBear oot and aboot on the boards.

Hopefully he'll able to tolerate a lil smooch on the cheek.

Go snuggle up with Squinney, Bear. But keep your toenails to yourself.

Actually, I'm still trying to catch up on sleep. I know that's not possible, but hey, I thought I'd give it a try. Very Happy

Other than that, running Bear to appointments, taking care of house, groceries, bills, getting kids signed up at new school and other basic living requirements.

Somewhere in all this I need to be getting a job...

Just finished dinner, so probably heading to bed real soon. One more cub to come home, then Momma bear can rest easy.[/quote]

I am cutting the pattern for you Super Woman outfit as we speak...
Would you like thongs with this?

Worried about this karaoke bit. I don't suppose you could do a lyric reading session. No kidding, actually.

Heh! What littlek said.

Oh, I had surgery and pain meds about a decade ago. It was six weeks before I could trust myself without a keeper

After six weeks, I just quit worrying about it.

Oh please be careful. I know you need to work, but could you find a belt--one of those belts workers wear to keep their backs from getting out of whack? What you plan to do is dangerous, but if you have to, at least find out about some sort of support--a corset type of thing. Besides, it might turn on Squinney.

Littlek, this was a few years ago in upstate New York. Beth can tell you all about it. Great fun, just hard to get everyone together at one time.

Hey there! I'm checking in on the Bear from Anacortes, Washington tonight. The boy and I are visiting my sister & brother-in-law this week. It is just gorgeous up here. I wish you all could see the view...moonlight reflected on the water in the bay...a bald eagle sitting on a nearby tree...green islands in the bay, the Olympic mountains in the distance. Wow.

I've been thinking about the Bear family and hoping BPB/BVT is taking it as easy as he should. Are you, Bear? I am NOT happy to hear about your plans to do karaoke on Sunday. I don't care if you do need the money! How much will another hospital stay cost?! They told you not to do it, so you need to put the idea out of your head and follow the doctor's orders. YOU HEAR ME?!

ARE YOU LISTENING???

I will be at the airport on Saturday, and I could just as easily fly to NC and stop you as go home. Don't make me come out there. <glaring>

uH OH... it's the famous Glare of Eva, now this is where reading the Ranger Joe's Guide to Survival in the Urban Wilderness Guide, Guiding You to Good Ways Out of Anything would come in handy.

See Chapter Six: The Stare, The Glare and the Bitter, Biting Attack Out of Nowhere.

I quote:
Quote:
Whenever you notice the glare, and you better see it or too bad for you, simply stop whatever you are doing, and go do what you are supposed to be doing.

Now, slowly, very slowly, (she's still glaring,) put the karaoke microphone down and the idea out of your head. Walk calmly, but deliberately, so you don't look like a whimp, to your comfortable chair and sit down.

Do not try to make eye contact or you may trigger the JulyGroundHog Effect (six weeks of winterish hell-like coldness).

Okay.
You've been warned.

Take it easy Bear and try listen to the doctor's orders as close as you can...you'll be feeling brand new in no time.

BPB/BVT,

The healing of sliced abdominal muscles should be taken seriously. The healing does take a while (I also had gallbladder removal with a large incision).

Listen to wandel, Bear. I had surgery once and thought I could do things I shouldn't. Landed right back in the hospital in worse shape than I was before. Just take it easy, OK?

Just listen to Eva. I'm older and tougher than she is, but even I'm a little shaken by the thought of her glare...

got up early today.... after slipping back a little yesterday and consuming quite a bit of pain medication. My family doctor is sending me over to G.I. because I can't shake this indigestion type pain and it's taking it out of me.

Still I managed to roll out farily early and had squinney drive me up to the lake where we walked about a half mile, which is all I could muster up. I'm really whipped today even though my indigestion pain is better. I think all this narcotic pain killer is just dragging me down in general but I've been assured I need it awhile longer and not to worry about getting habituated to it so we'll see. Wish I had a little more energy though. I'm hungry but I'm afraid to eat.
