I've been gone for a few days, but have been thinking about Bear and you, too, Squinney. I'm praying the surgery goes well and all is uneventful.

That quip about the New Year's Eve gown just about killed me. <ROTFLMAO!>

Here's some more bungee cords. I have a feeling you're going to need them in the next coupla days.

That reminds me of a true story ... one that's informational as well as inspirational. A few years ago a buddy of mine lost an eye when a tie-down cord like one of these came loose as he was pulling it tight. Yes, it whipped around and caught him in the eye. I wasn't there at the time, but I am told the first thing he said was, "It's all fun and games til' someone loses an eye." And now, when he introduces himself to people, he states his name is, "Vickers ... that's with one 'I'." His good humor and positive attitude is contageous.

So, be careful with these cords, 'cause they can put an eye out.

And if bad stuff happens, try and keep a positive outlook. You may not be able to change your circumstances, but you can always change your attitude.

Continuing to pray everything goes well ....

Eva, how did you escape from my "special" bedroom?

Three days ago, I lured you in there and secured you with several pieces of bungee cord....
....wait a mo? They've gone as well!

So...... hope Bear came through with flying colors and can get of the loopy meds soon. Of course, maybe he likes the loopy meds.

You must have drugged me too, Lord Ellpus. I had this awful hallucination that I was trapped in West Texas with a bunch of loony in-laws. It was awful! Whew! It's good to know I was actually in Merry Olde England with you instead.

Now, give Bear back his drugs.

I was gone too long, didn't know that Bear is in the hospital.
Squinney, please give my regards to Bear and we're
praying for him and wish him a speedy recovery. A2k is
waiting for his wit and humorous lines.

I guess, he's sharing that with the nurses now Wink

Good grief.

All the time that passes between updates.

Definitely understand Squinney's end of it--it's just maddening to wait. Despise hospitals and their antisceptic devices.

Hope she's resting. Peaceful, strengthening rest to Squinney.

This has been a long day for all of us who care--and even longer for Squinney.

The Bear family is in my thoughts.

Thank you all.

I know it's late, but I'll give a quick update.

Not a good day.

Surgery today took 3 times longer than expected. Got the gallbladder out, but when went in with laproscopy, Doc saw some other things he didn't like. Clipped some and sent to lab. Will know more in a day or two.

Due to other stuff that was attached to organs, had to go in through 6" incision, so we miss out on the faster healing laproscopy method.

Bear is STILL fighting. Finally restrained him. According to Doc, he ripped everything off again last night and wandered out into the hall.

He will be in ICU for at least a couple of days, maybe longer unless they can figure out what's causing him to behave this way. Recovery passed him off to ICU and indicated he was in detox. Nurse mentioned it when I was finally allowed back. Told them that was NOT it. He doesn't drink other than occasional or do drugs at all, let alone to the point of detoxing 6 days later. Nurse seemed surprised.

Another Cat Scan in the morning to see if anything is going on in his brain that would be causing episodes. Waiting for lab results on biopsy stuff.

Must sleep. Will check in in the morning before I go back. Thank you all again.

Love,
squinney

I just got back a few minutes ago from an extended A2K break, so this is the first I heard about this. I hope Bear recovers quickly, and I hope you stay strong, Squinney. I've always been very fond of both of you, and I just know that you have a ton of friends here who are all wishing both of you the very best.

I was "in" for a total of seven weeks, and witnessed this type of "behaviour" on many occasions, actually doing it myself once or twice.
The nurses told me it was very much a "man thing", and was nothing out of the ordinary.

Think positive, and make sure you dont exhaust yourself at this time.
Grab any help that may be on offer from friends and family.

My very best wishes to Bear.

Hold your dominion.
