Because it wasn't raining when I got home from work I took the dog for a walk in a fine break. I don't know who was more pleased to get home, her or me Very Happy

So, gf, did you brave the walk on this rainy saturday? At times like this I'm so glad it's a cat I have & not a dog that requires walking. I don't think I could cope with the guilt!

I remember the cold drizzly winters of Adelaide when I worked there, and very miserable they were..I imagine Melbourne would be much the same. The big plus north of Sydney is that it rains in the summer, and the winters are dry, so that once the sun comes up things warm up fast.
Hills and mist and gumtrees, msolga? I drive 22 k's from my home (that's it in the icon pic) through mountains and rainforest to get to work, pass maybe one car on the way,and the biggest hazard is kangaroos.
Sorry, just had to mention that Very Happy

Sounds like an amazing scenic drive to work! Surprised I have "kangaroo crossing" warning on my stretch, but I have yet to see one. Hopefully never, in front of my car!

My dog gave me the afternoon off msolga. She and the cat are negotiating preferred positions in front of the heater.

Yes ehBeth I'd forgotten that winter means dormancy for many plants in the northern hemisphere. I was walking along King Street E (I think) and outside the Rabbas there I saw some crocuses had been put out for sale and yet the snow was still deep on the ground. It was a nice moment.

I'm on notice though. This afternoon is bright and not raining. I've just got back from doing some work at the house my ex and I are selling and my dog is giving me "the look". The cat is zipping around the back garden leaping into the various fruit trees.

Laughing

Hard to resist "the look", gf, isn't it? Dogs are such master manipulators! I once had a cocker spaniel who knew only one word: "walk". We had to spell it to avoid totally over-the-top doggie hysterics at even a suggestion of the word! Laughing And what has that cat been eating? I wouldn't mind a bit of what she's had.

Ok, so if Adelaide got the sunshine today it must be our turn tomorrow! Very Happy About time, too!

Time all good working folk were in bed, I'm afraid. Sad

I'm planning on playing 27 holes of golf today, msolga. The temperature is expected to exceed 100.

Am I making a wise decision?

Actually, even if you had tried to dissuade me, I would have gone anyway. I play my best golf in this kind of weather. The combination of beer and heat turns me into a very loose, calm-playing individual, resulting in some spectacular shots and much ooohing and aahing from the crowd.
