So you think you know the USA?

Here's another fun game. The idea is to place the state that'll show up on the upper-left corner in the proper place on the US map. Drag it to the right place. You will get a score and how many average miles you are off. Good luck!

I forgot! Embarrassed I did it a second time, and my error was 26 miles.

It's a cute test. I sent it to my nephew, who will probably do much better than me!

84 percent, with a distance of 52 miles. Not bad considering I had Kansas off by several hundred miles. Took some work to counter that problem.

I scored 84% with an average miss of around 55 miles.

Although I have to say that the only reason I knew a few were because others around it had formed the outline already. If the map started blank with every state my margin for error would have been much higher.

The first time I did it, I mistook the state of Georgia for Missouri. (I never realized before how similarly shaped they are!) It was the first state up, and I was just looking at the shape and didn't realize it gave the name of the state next to it. I got 90% with an average error of 34 miles. A half hour later I tried it again and got 96% with an average error of 8 miles. Maryland was first up that time, and I placed it a little too far off to count as correct.

26 miles this time.
Kansas is still the big problem.
And I keep trying to put Colorado further north than it is.

We didn't take the U.S. states in our geography classes, so this is quite an interesting challenge.

See, I know that Kentucky is right under where Setanta is, so I know that one.

Colorado I should know, but there's something about it - until about 3 years ago I thought it was where Oregon is.

Kansas. <sigh> I just can't explain Kansas. Maybe if I went on a road trip to Kansas?

But why would anyone go to Kansas?

92 % 13 miles 608 seconds ( I didn't know it was timed)

They made me try to put Iowa on the middle of map with no reference points at all. I was off by 45 miles.

Better. My time on the other one was sort of pitiful.

Extreme kudos to ehBeth and peeps not living in the states.

Positioning the first four or so isn't easy.

Colorado screwed me up, as well. I always think it is more NW.

And, starting off with South Dakota is just wrong.
