I just did Asia and got completely whipped by the istans. Turkmenistan, yeah, I've read about it, but where the heck is it?

Piffka:

You can only go due south from Missouri into five states. The one I'm thinking of has six points from which a person could walk, drive, fly or swim due south into another state. heh heh.

Wrong, Joe. You can go due south from Missouri into six states: Nebraska, Kansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas. Go back and look carefully at Piffka's map.

SWIM, you say? Hmm. That puts a different spin on things.

Omigosh! Then there are two states that you can do the same SIX south States trick. ((I never noticed Nebraska before but that comes from being a Sooner fan))

Shall I tell you or show the other one?

Very funny, ehBeth. I didn't do too well at your big frozen segments!!! But, I have a fighting chance--unlike with the dots.

But, 71% out of 87 in the Middle East.

(It is awful. I recently "learned" all of these--and I have forgotten so much.)

phew. I remembered most of what I've learned about the changes in Europe. Little dither over Slovenia vs Slovakia, but 109 out of 111 points is good enough.

(doing the continents was good for getting my confidence up  )

Do I dare try Africa? Confused

I'm not much of a traveller, Lash. You've got me confused with my parents, the hamburgers.

I do like globes, and old atlases, though. If they had a quiz about countries as they were in 1910, I'd be in my glory.

<Thank goodness!> 100 out of 111 on Europe.

I missed...Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia and Montenegro, Romania, mostly the Baltics. Missed Bulgaria, too.

Got the former Soviets, though.

(I love this. I got my daughter to do a few and she did a lot better than I thought she would. (LOL!!) She said we did REALLY good for a couple of Americans-- <sniff> I really didn't know how to take that!)

Oh, eh Beth. I thought you had been to several places. Around the time of the Orange Revolution, I thought you'd shared about some trips to Europe... Could easily be my faulty memory.

Whether you have or not--impressive knowledge about so many continents! I'm definitely in awe for your 1) acquiring it and possibly more 2) remembering it!

I'm lucky (I think) to have colleagues from literally everywhere, Lash. Including some who were in, and around, Ukraine, during the Orange Revolution (still have my orange scarf at work).

I've travelled a little bit in Western Europe, but that was 20-40 years ago (remember that pic of me pouting on the boat?)

Ok! Asia rocks - other than Brunei (boo hiss - I though it was much closer to the Middle East).

84 out of 87 points

Dang Brunei!

I learned a lot about those "tans" from our threads here, and talking to my co-workers.

Gotta go walk the dogs and some neighbourhood kids before I try that.

Yup, Joe, tell me. I'm guessing Tennessee.

Can anybody 'splain that strange loop between Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee? It looks about as odd as Pt. Roberts, WA.

We've been playing with the Lizardpoint quiz -- Africa has me beat. Even when I'm told where a country is, I can't remember.
