Well put, Craven & dagmaraka.
All the best to you, steissd.
Vladimir Syrovatka, a Czech author once said: "A human being I can picture even at taking a crap. But the nation, I am afraid, would crap all over the planet."
Ugh, sorry for the clumsy translation. All that wants to say is that the idea of prescribing a nation how to feel or what to support is somehow wrong and dangerous.
oops, that, by the way, was a response to wolf. i cracked my brain for awhile how to translate it exactly, the charm was all lost in the translation i'm afraid.
thank y'all, i am already feeling at home among all of you.
hey, i am a very shy girl!
Steissd
Good luck.
Stay safe.
Looking forward to your return -- and to your posts.
oh - <gets it> - dagmaraka is that slovak flatmate of yours you were talking about, K!
<grins at his own slowness of mind>
glad to hear you feel at home here now, dagmaraka <smiles>
yup, i am the slovak in question. representing my tribe in this part of the world. although i was shocked to go to a slovak theatre show in lynn, massachussetts (in the middle of nowhere) and see about 600 of other slovaks there. the world is infested with us!
sorry, that's quite off-topic.
i am very slow at connecting the dots but dagmarka its so very nice to have you with us
(and whatever the littlek says about me is probably true but i will deny it anyway)
i deny whatever she may have said about me as well! good or bad! i didn't do it!
nimh, I'd never accuse you of being slow of mind!
And everything I said about dys is true.
hmm, and what I said about Dag.... nemmind, sssshhhh
It is both fascinating and rewarding to see what this discussion I created has evolved into. Very cool the way human minds react when you bang them together.
Au is going to think I'll do anything to disagree with him, but no matter how much I may disagree with some of the protesters, I see no reason for them to stop protesting just because the war is on. I would hope that they would choose to temper their message with words of support for our troops, but whatever any American citizen feels he or she needs to say, let them say it. Free speech isn't supposed to be comfortable, nor should it be put on hold at times when it is likely needed the most.
