Back to a 3 game lead. A win tonight over Detroit clinches a playoff spot.

Freddy Garcia
(13-8, 3.91 ERA in 2005, 2-1, 2.63 ERA in 2005 vs. DET)

vs.

Jason Grilli
(1-0, 2.00 ERA in 2005)

An interesting note: Grilli started outin the White Sox organization and was released when they signed Tatahito Iguchi last year. He should be out to prove he can play by beating his old team. Plus, the Sox always have a hard time against new pitchers.

Sox score their 4th off of Paul Konerkos 40th HR of the season.

Detroit gets one off of a wild pith.

Yes, congrats, jpn. And remember Bobby Cox's mantra re the playoffs: "They're a crap shoot."

Enjoy what your team has achieved!

Man... I don't know who I would rather play: the Red Sox or the Indians.

The Sox are tough tough tough, but Cleveland is white hot at the end of the season.

Either team is going to be tough in the play-offs.

I think I'd rather play the yanks over Boston or Cleveland right now.

Plus... it would be sweet to watch them lose.

Big series this weekend... two out of three wins by Boston ties things a sweep for the out-right win, right?

I heard they were doubling the police presence this weekend.

That is correct, jp. Boston must win at least two to stay alive. Hence tonight's game is BIG!

Rough day for Bah-stin fans.

The white hot whitesox might let you make it to the playoffs though... they beat Cleveland again
