Its good to see the southsiders having a chance this time. I'm first and foremost a Cubs fan but always a Chicago fan.

Hey sublime,

Good to see you around. How ya been lately?

As a cubs fan, how do you feel about Dusty Baker? Didn't he just get a two year extension?

4 left against Minnesota.
4 against Detroit
and they wrap the season up with 3 more against Cleveland.

Could come down to the last game of the season.

Cleveland has 4 with KC and 4 with TB before the season finale. Pretty easy looking schedule.

Down to a 1.5 game lead. This is not looking good...

You must be a Cleveland fan... I thought something smelled fishy in here.

Well, you have been playing catch up all year, have whittled a 15 game lead down to 1.5. Cleveland is playing out of their minds right now and the Sox have really been stinking it up. I'd have to say that if Cleveland does over take them... the best team won.

Of course the sox do still have a lead which means they hold their own destiny in their hands. Now matter how good the tribe is playing, all the Sox have to do is mtch them win for win and still come out on top.

Sorry JP, I am actually a Yankee fan; but the thrill of seeing Chicago go from a healthy lead to no lead to deficit is just too enjoyable for me not to smile (even though it could mean facing old nemesis Cleveland in playoffs).

HA... yankees fan... you're just still bitter from last years play-offs. I wouldn't get your hopes up to much this year either.

It'll all come down to the final series between CLE-CWS and BOS-NYY for the division and the wildcard, not bold enough to give a prediction here, I'm going with angels by one or two games in the west.

I say the NL will stay just like it is right now, ATL, STL, HOU and SD. I do think SD will finish exactly at .500 just for kicks.

Man... the Sox really want to make this interesting.

It got down to a 1.5 game lead.

Cleveland lost Sox win: up to a 2.5 game lead

Cleveland off, Sox lose: down to a 2 game lead

Tonight Cleveland is losing to TB, Sox losing to Detroit... again.

They had he chance to be up 4 games after tonight (if they won on Clevelands off day and a win tonight with a Cleveland lose) but they just really want to keep playing with me...

Get my hopes up... dash them on the rocks... get my hopes up... dash them on the rocks...

May I answer your original question again, jp?

Yes, it was time to get excited.
You've been excited all season long.
And the White Sox DO have a chance for the big one.

You think so, fbaezer?

I'm not so confident any more. The second half has been less than spectacular.

Last night was interesting: NYY, Boston, White Sox and Indians all lose.

I heard that there's a chance that there could be two layers of playoffs before the scheduled playoffs begin. Let's see if I get this right: If NYY and Red Sox tie, and Cleveland or White Sox are in second with the same record as NY or Boston, then the latter two would play a one-game playoff, and the loser would play Cleveland or Chicago for wild card status.

Does this sound right to anyone?

Yeah... if they both divisions end in a tie.

NY would play Boston and Chicago would play Cleveland.

Then the two losers from each series would play for the wildcard spot.

That would be cool... to see the Yanks lose in both games.

As for the WSox chances.
Look at it with a positive attitude.
It has the best set of starters among the AL contenders.
And you can look at the WS as a toss-up.
