Speaking of all those new players on the Braves, it was Langerhans who knocked in the tying and winning runs with two outs in the bottom of the 10th last night...

No offense taken, RP--I'm not an Indians fan...

The Braves have dropped three to Phila. They're still up by 5, but they need to win a few. Obviously...

I'm downgrading my prediction again.

No play-offs. Cleveland takes division. Yanks take wild card.

I'm tellin ya... go put your cash on Cleveland. Sometimes all it takes is getting hot at the right time and they are hot at the right time. The sox can't hit. Their defense has gone to hell. Their pitching (which got them here in the first place) just got spanked by KC. K freakin' C!!!!

Being a Sox fan my whole life I have been prepared for this melt-down all season. You knew it was coming... you just didn't know when.

I have a friend, a White Sox fan, who has been fully expecting a collapse ever since they were up by 14 games (or however big the lead once was). The thing is, I almost think he'll be disappointed if they don't fold.

I mean, I may be a Braves fan, but I don't root for them to lose in the playoffs every year. What is it with White Sox fans?

It's self-flagellation from the team's year of infamy, the 1919 World Series, the year of the Black Sox.

Tno notes:

1.) We don't hope they lose. We just know they will. So rather than get our hopes dashed against the rocks yet again, we have just become eternally pessimistic.

2.) Did you know that the Black Sox were not called the Black Sox because of the money they took to throw the series? Theyt were called the Black Sox because the owner was so cheap he wouldn't pay to have thier uniforms washed so they played with dirty uniforms.

Well, I guess I sympathize, given my team's record in the post season. As Bobby Cox once said, "The post season is a crap shoot."

Big win last night. A series win today could be just the thing to push momentum back in the right direction...

You may need to get me a pace maker... I'm not sure how many more of these late inning heroics my ticker can take.

Collapse or not, this has been one exciting season.
