If Jesus died to forgive us, then why is there a Hell?

Matthew 21:12-13

Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. It is written, he said to them, My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers.

And I am glad that you are smiling. That means one of my prayers have already been answered today!

Kisses,

Google a few things for your rhetorical skills:

Argumentum ad lapidem
Argumentum ad hominem
Argumentum ad nauseum

Of course, you are already expert at these.

I "believe" you've already been there and done that, and I can't be convinced to be anywhere you've been even if you had turned on the exhaust fan and sprayed a deodorant.

I have told you before, Frank. I am not going to engage in that challenge with you. It wouldn't matter if my list outnumbered yours or not. You have done nothing but continually tell me I am wrong and when I point something out to you it is ignored. So, fine, I forfeit, call it whatever you want.

I am not going to do it and I have told you why. IMO you just won't be happy until I fall down on my knees and worship you as God. Sorry, ain't gonna happen.

You aren't gonna do it, MA....because there are no passges where the god of the Bible is on the scene....and is not being all the things I've charged it with being....and none of the things you pretend it is.

Why do you care, Frank? You don't believe in anything, remember? Or is that anything other than trying to belittle others that have faith? Is your life so empty you feel the need to fill it with cruelty to those that don't think and feel as you do? Is that what makes you such a kind, moral, and generous man as you have stated?

Frank, Lightwizard, I feel sorry for anyone who has no faith nor hope. I care about people and things. Everyone has a free will with which they can choose what they want. You don't want it, so you don't want it. What about those that do, Frank? What about those that might be trying to find the goodness in mankind? What about those that are looking for answers? You offer nothing but ridicule. Your ridicule shows how little you have to offer. I had thought at one time we might be at least able to have some discussions to exchange ideas. You don't want to exchange anything but bitter words. Why? Because you can? Because it does what for you? It has to be doing something. What is it? Are you one of those that likes to make other people feel badly so they can feel better? I just don't understand people that won't let others believe what they want to believe; and that means believers and non-believers alike. Shoving it down anyone's throat is not the right thing to do; nor is belittling or making fun of what someone believes.

This is the last post of yours that I am going to address. I have tried and tried to be kind and reach an amicable discussion with you and you have resisted every attempt. So, this is the last YOU will be receiving any answer to your posts from me. And, I can only imagine I just made you smile even more today! Laughing So, another prayer answered for me!

If you know all the answers and you don't need to seek any further truths, then why do you engage in these particular forums?

Kisses,

Momma Angel

Sounds as though you've blown a gasket, MA.

What makes you think you are more interested in "the goodness of mankind"...than Lightwizard or me?

Do you honestly think that because you buy into a silly fairytale....and because you deny the obvious...you are somehow a more moral person than those of us who see the silliness of the fairytales for what they are?

Get your head on straight. Wake the hell up.

You ask "What about those that are looking for answers?
You are NOT looking for answers. You are stubbornly insisting that you have the answers....and then you offer that pathetic fairytale...and the denial involved in trying to rationalize it...as the answer.

I at least acknowledge that I do not know the answers....and that I do not have enough unambiguous evidence upon which to base a meaningful guess.

For you to pretend that you are more interested in the answers to difficult questions is so ignorant, I'm surprised even you would attempt it.

No....I offer MUCH MORE. I offer the information that I do not know the answers and that the evidence really doesn't warrant a guess. But you are too afraid of the god you guess exists to even consider that as an option. And then you lecture others.

You are as much a hypocrite as Neo....and is if damn near all hypocrite.

You, laughingly, write: "I just don't understand people that won't let others believe what they want to believe...
BELIEVE WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT. Who really cares about your silly guesses.

BUT IF YOU COME TO AN INTERNET FORUM TO DISCUSS THE GODDAM STUPID GUESSES....expect that people will discuss them.

You are a cry baby. You really don't belong in a forum like this.

By the way, MA...

...your comment:

....is probably one of the most laughably ignorant statements I've ever read in this forum.

For you....a theists with all the goddam answers....to accuse me, an agnostic who acknowledges that he does not know the answers....

...is so bizarre, I really have to question your sanity as well as your intelligence.

And may you be in good health also, Neo. As I told you...you are invaluable for helping to make my points here.

Some of your nonsense does so much damage to your side of the issue, I cannot help but wonder if you are a plant. Yeah, that's it. Maybe you are an atheist just pretending to be an ignorant Christian.

If you are....allow me to compliment you for a wonderful performance.

Now that was truly funny, neo, and we love you, too.

As to Momma, her egotistical pronounciation that there is only one kind of hope and faith is the most disturbing aspect of Christian fundamentalism.

I have faith that Frank wishes for humanity to try and always show its best side. Believing in a mythological God can do the trick also. Isn't that nice?

Not all of us need to believe that there is a higher power who is looking down on Earth specifically to make us all behave.

It's like the old joke about the Englishman and the Scotsman on the train. The Englishman observes the Scotsman with all the daily London newspapers each day going to work and the Scotsman, after reading some parts of each paper, carefully shreds them up and throws them out of the window.

Finally, after about a week, the Englishman can't stand it anymore, casts aside his British reserve and asks, "Please tell me why each day we've traveled to work on the train you read parts of the paper, shred them up and throw them out of the window?"

The Scotsman replies, "It's to keep the elephants away."

The Englishman retorts, "But there are no elephants for thousands of miles from here."

The Scotsman replies with glee, "Effective, isn't it?"

You are the cry baby, MA. You are the one bemoaning "you are being nasty and picking on me."

You are the one with buttons stuck way out in the open.

But you are a delight to try this kind of projection. The laugh was wonderful.
