Been popping the vitamin C every day since I got this flu three weeks ago, but without any rest, it's not getting any better.
Woke up coughing at 3am, couldn't get back to sleep and I realize now that I'm burnt out and am thinking about taking the day off to get some rest now that things at work have slowed down a bit.
Even the young folks have taken sick time and I think it's time I give my sick body a day to re-group.
I thought I'd be able to tough it out another 3 weeks until summer break, but if I don't get any rest from here to there, I'm afraid I'll end up spending my break in the hospital.

When a person is sick they SHOULD take a sick day!
Just because you work for a company doesn't mean you're their slave!
Rest & enjoy your sick day, Montana!

Thanks Olga :-)

My boss is a real bitch about taking time off and sometimes I do feel like a slave, but she'll just have to get over it.
I stuck it out with this damn flu the past 3 weeks when it was busy as hell and they are just going to have to accept the fact that I'm only human.

The hard part is calling boss lady to tell her I won't be in, sigh!

Can you leave a recorded message, Montana? We can here, in my line of work.
If you can't, don't speak as though you're asking for a favour. Be quietly firm: you've sick & you won't be able to work today. Assert your right to be a human being!
And good luck! Very Happy

Yup, that's how I always handle things. I still hate calling her though.

I have to drive my son to work and pick him up later, but I promise that that will be the most I do today. I truly need a day in bed.

3 weeks of the flu! You're right, Montana, you MUST have rest if you're to get well again.

Not only that, when people go to work with the flu they just make other employees ill.

I've often wondered about this... bosses act like it's some sort of virtue to go to work ill, but disease-control specialists say to stay away from other people the whole time you have symptoms, so you don't spread disease. You end up between a rock & a hard place with this conflict of interests.

I've found the herb Cayenne Pepper really helps me when I'm getting over the flu.

I hope you sleep all day long and awake refreshed and much better tomorrow!

Montana! I think you have lobster-fashey-eye-tis. Never fear, Heeven is here. Please send 20 crates of live lobsters to my home address. I will need to inspect them immediately to find the cure to your (and your co-workers) illnesses. I am so sorry to hear you are ill and I promise to work diligently to cure my hunger, I mean your illness.

Carry on!

Hope you're snoozing away right now, Montana.

There is a bit of a nasty bronchial thing going around a fair bit of North America right now - maybe give a doc a call?

This flu has been going around the shop since I first started and some people have gotten this 2 or 3 times.
I don't know if this is my 3rd flu in three weeks or if it's the same one with many different stages.
I'm one who rarely takes sick time just for a cold or flu, but in this line of work, you work very long hours and simply don't get a chance to rest.
I didn't get much of a chance to rest yesterday because my cousin was over several times because he was helping my son buy a car, so there went my plans on staying in bed all day.
I still feel like I was hit by a truck, so I'm going to take one more day off and this time, I'm staying in bed.
I really don't like taking any more time, but I know if I don't, I'm not going to get over this.
This flu is now in my throat, head and sinus, so I hope this is the last freaking stage of this sickness.

Heeven
I'll ship those lobster out to you right away and I want you to know how much I appreciate all your help in this matter ;-)

Beth
I brought my son to the doc when he was sick and he just gave him some cough syrup and antibiotics. He gave me some as well because I was just starting to come down with it at the time, so I don't think there's much more he can do for me.

JB
Thanks. I'm going to take one more day to get some needed rest and I hope to god I'm better tomorrow. I can't afford to miss any more work.

Noddy
I'm trying very hard to pamper myself, but it seems like I owe my time to everyone else but me :-(
I really have to change that!

Osso
Thanks a bunch! :-D

You guys are very sweet :-D
