I don't know how many times we have to go through this. For crying out loud. Can you mods find a way to cut a guy some slack?

Husker, I hope you can read this anyway, even if you can't post. Get well, buddy.

uh oh. well, we don't know everything that goes on behind scenes and what the past issues were. but if we can pitch in with a word of support while mods are still debating, consider it done. i'm sure being a moderator is not a pleasant and fun task.

Well, I guess there is a difference between annoying spamers and a longterm member like husker, who stretched the TOS
in good intentions (looking at his last offense).

I hope his punishment will fit the crime, and we'll see him
shortly again.

What makes me sad is only seeing Craven when there's a crisis of some kind. When I first joined he was always messin around...it was a lot of fun.

But isn't it his choice to do so panzade.
By his own admittance he likes to ignore the
a2k community Wink

I get the impression that Craven is severely limited by fitting three lives and future ambitions in 24-hours days.

I'm computer challenged. Can anyone come up a link for with Craven's 2005 New Year's Resolves?

I'd have to say....guessing....that when this thing started getting bigger he had to stop hanging out and I think he made a conscious decision not to get too close to the forum core for reasons he just explained. I'm sure he'd like to be able to chat.

All I can tell you is that it was more than 2 people could hope to accomplish. Sometimes it seems as if he were a bot.

Piffka--

That's the one.

Panzade--

I don't think he's a bot--he just has fearsome energy. He makes me feel very old--and uncomfortably humble.

For glory's sake, don't get humble around Craven!

It is bad for the ego......

His, I mean.

Reyn,

You bring up a good example of why it's simpler to just have a blanket "no posting of your links" policy and why the link rule changes will be hard to codify.

Yes, putting one's link in the profile field has been allowed. But you sometimes post telling people to click on it which circumvents the notion of not using posts to solicit website traffic. You also had put a call to click on it in your signature....

Thank you for your detailed answer. It is much appreciated. I can see the problems that you face: re: "advertising" websites. I think to make things nice and simple for myself, I will voluntarily remove my link from the www line in my profile. I will only use "img" tags to show off my works.

One thing, though, for the record, the info that I put in my signature line was not to point others to my site. It was to let others know that I have a web email address in my profile. Not web (site). I did this because I am not able to reply to PM's yet. I don't know if that was not okay either, but either way, I will leave my sig line blank.

Bah, you all have it wrong. I've been through my physical wall for over a month and failed most of my goals due to my failure to avoid taking on new ones. I've bitten off far more than I can chew and am still taking on more knowing that it's been too much for a long time.

It's not a good example at present but at least some special things have happened that I am proud of.

Reyn,

You reminded me of something I think will be a solution to some of the linking issues.

The most significant expantion of a2k is just starting right now, it will take a while as what's being built will ultimately be bigger than all of a2k right now.

The thing is, I just realized that it will be able to solve some of the problems of allowing people to share among friends while disallowing the imposition of said sharing on those who do not welcome it.

It's being built for different reasons but this is yet another way it will be a solution.

Anywho, while not tipping too much of my hand, it is software to manage human networks and communites that will allow people to create their own communities and networks and manage them themselves.
