Gus greeting littlek. She was silly enough to accept an invitation to his swamp house.

These are Gus' knees. He keeps an extra supply down by the swamp. By the way, this is the outdoors part of his indoor-outdoor swamp/swimming pool.

Horrors!! This is what Gus REALLY looks like. For all this time, he has been a closet conservative. I, for one, am totally dissolusioned.

How many folks here have had the opportunity to drink actual moonshine?

I have had slivovich (sp?) which is Serbian moonshine. Very potent stuff.

In high school I had some Puerto Rican moonshine my friends dad made (unbeknownst to him of course) straight from the mason jar it was kept in. Only had a sip of that and it was like fire in my throat.

Oh yes. I had my one and only sip from a mason jar when I first moved South twelve years ago. It was, indeed, like drinking burning gasoline.

Nope. The closest I've had is the tiniest sip of Everclear. Enough to convince me I didn't want a drink of it.

Even in my drunken heyday all I could handle well was beer and wine. I still have some occasionally, but no longer have to have it as a matter of survival.

When I was a mere prat of a child living in Saudi Arabia (booze is illegal there) my father built a still that made, as he called it "hooch" from mostly raisens. He bought mail-order from New York small vials of
flavoring/colouring to make the "hooch" look and taste like anything from Scotch to Vodka. My father was very popular in Dharan.
