Oh, weird about the link.

I like the one you have! Simple, the green is good with the background immediately below it, and the direction works.

Wow shewolf. Thanks! I'll keep those on file for the next time I have a loose tooth project.

I'm still leaning towards the one I posted. Like soz says - it picks up the green and, I think, picks up on the pinks too.

Bean's photo was the first one I ever thought to add clip art to and it is kind of fun to play with an additional element and learning how to use them without distracting from the photos.

I think I need a class in graphic design.

In the future, maybe I'll just ask the kid to create an illustration!

if you ever need small gifs or jpgs.. let me know.

He uses as simple pictures as he can for his board games and such.
he has tons of links for simple drawings of everything from a leaf to picasso

Thanks shewolf, I'll keep that in mind. Finding cool, free clipart is tough.

I got my test print of Bean's photo back yesterday and it turned out very nice. I'll be happy to send you one if you PM or email me an adress.

I'm just posting this because I think its pretty.

We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday. It is on a really beautiful farm about 15 minutes away. They have a train that takes you out to the pumpkin patch and a boat that brings you back. It was jammed with people so I was surprised to find such an image of solitude:

Oh, that's lovely.

I really like the composition. Sun (?) right in the middle, Mo (?) on one side, corner of the boat on the other.

And all those soft grays and blues and browns and then boom the bright yellow.

Lovely.

Thanks soz!

I'm working on standing back a bit -- trying to give a sense of place. This is hard for me because expressions are the thing that really get my interest. Most environments are so complicated that I find them distracting. The pumpkin patch was a nice place to practice.

Here's another one:

Very Portland, all that fog. (I imagine.)

Nice. I like the boat one even more, but both very nice. I like how you framed this, too, I've seen you do it before but it really seems to work with this one, making the very edge of the photo a little darker. Somehow emphasizes a floaty, upward feeling.

Don't you just love the light here!?

Isn't it the best photography light ever, husker?

When I first came to Portland on a business trip it was the light that I feel in love with.

After working so long on my Texas photos it was really nice and easy to work on my pumpkin patch photos.

Here is one of my Texas photos that is giving me conniption fits. I love the pictue but I can't seem to get it right for printing. This is an early, unfinished version:

I agree but it is very "Texas" light so I'm trying to decide whether I want to play it up or try to correct it. I'm working with it both ways but leaning towards playing it up -- sometimes bad exposure is okay.

Maybe a non-white border?

A deep blue-gray like the darker part of the bridge of his goggles, maybe?

Deep red could be interesting but might be a bit much.
