But I forgot the grammar and my translation of the words are really bad. I tried to find a language professor to help, but since school is starting no one is answering my emails. Such is life...
A sidebar on my Latin background:
I grew up Catholic back in the days when the Mass was celebrated in
Latin. I can still recall some of the prayers and responses. I went to
a Catholic high school in East Boston where Latin was a requirement.
I was inspired by the work the priests and brothers were doing and
joined them. That meant four years of high school Latin and several
courses in college. Right about that time Latin was replaced by the
vernacular in the liturgy, and became less and less a part of daily life.
I left the order back in '72 and had little contact with the Latin language,
though words and phrases often sprang to mind. Then, on this site, I
happened across someone requesting a translation into Latin. I was
unsure of some of the vocabulary and grammar and so searched the
internet and found some online resources.
I answered the question. And then another and another. Soon, I found I
had a new hobby.
