Hi, Im hoping to make a present for my Grandpa and was wondering if you could translate the following phrases into Latin for me. Would really apreciate your help!! Thanks

I love you so very much
More that words can say
And so I send this love to you
On this your special day

A grandfather's wisdom and love reach beyond all measure

Grandparents are there to help the child get into mischief they haven't thought of yet

The history of our grandparents is remembered not with rose petals but in the laughter and tears of their children and their children's children. It is into us that the lives of grandparents have gone. It is in us that their history becomes a future.

I know theres a lot here, but any help will be appreciated!

I'll try it a bit at a time.

I love you so very much
Te magnopere amo

More that words can say
Plus quam verba dicere possunt

And so I send this love to you
Ergo amorem tibi mitto

On this your special day
In hac tua die propria

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone could help translate the following phrase (I have paid to online translators however they have come back with different results)...

"The truth is rarely pure and never simple"

Many thanks Smile

My hack at it:

Veritas raro pura et numquam simplex est.

What other translations have you gotten?

Hi George,

Thanks for your help! The two different quotes i received are:

Rare candida simplex numquam est veritas

Veritas raro pura et numquam simplex est

Hi George or anyone that can help,

A challenge for you: "Never say die".

If you don't mind.

Thanks.

This is, of course, an idiomatic expression.
The translation literally means:
Never say "die."

Numquam dic morere.

For those that are a whole lot better than I am at this:

I'd like to get a Latin translation for a proper name. Which in English would be "Blessed Bringer of Light". I can't seem to find a good direct translation in all of my searching. Thank you for your time.

As it happens, the Latin for "Bringer of Light" is "Lucifer"
and for "Blessed is Beatus".
So:

Beatus Lucifer
