A lover fears all that he believes
Amator omnia quod credit timet.
Did I type that over correct?...
Further I'd like to have two of my own (self-made) sayings translated
into Latin;
All that I want is all that is in my grasp,
but all that is in my grasp is all that I want.
Riddles enough,
riddles to solve.
-and-
Life's a game,
play the game,
or at least die trying.
And 2 sayings I've just heard somewhere before;
Redeem your past or repeat your mistakes
-and-
Forever you will be in my heart
Also I'd like to ask you, Africanus and George, if you'd advice me to
do a self study (as you are momentarily doing as I read, Africanus)
in Latin. I find myself to be kind of liking the language and all..
I'm just not sure if a self study would be fun enough...
1) Yes, you did copy that correctly.
2) Translations:
All that I want is all that is in my grasp,
but all that is in my grasp is all that I want.
Omnia quae cupeo sunt omnia quae in complexo meo,
sed omnia quae in complexo meo sunt omnia quae cupeo.
Riddles enough,
riddles to solve.
Satis aenigmatum,
aenigmates ad solvendum.
Life's a game,
play the game,
or at least die trying.
Vita ludus est,
ludum age,
aut certe temptans morere.
Redeem your past or repeat your mistakes
Praeterita tua redime aut errata tua itera.
Forever you will be in my heart
Semper in corde meo eris.
3) No disrespect to you, but Africanus is an exceptional guy.
Latin is very hard to take on as a solo project. Perhaps there
is some school offering a course at night near you?
Best of luck!
