nullum bonum sine malo
nullus amor sine odio
nulla innocentia sine libidine
obscuritas sum

NOTE: as I mentioned above, if you are going to have this tattooed, then
I urge you to have it reviewed by someone else first. I am not a
professional Latin scholar, just a guy who does this for fun.

Hi,

Just wondering if someone could please translate the following;

'Music was my first love and it will be my last'

It for a new tattoo, gonna go below a treble clef that's all!!

Thanks in advance

saucy_pants x x

P.S can you tell me which bit means which, cos if its gonna be on me forever it'd be good if i could tell people which bit means which, and preferably if you could tell me how to pronounce it!!
Sorry if thats cheeky!!
thanks x

Saw your second request after I had translated this.
Here's how it breaks down:

Musica = Music
amor = love
primus = first
meus = my
erat = was,
et = and
ultimus = last
meus = my
erit = will be.

I would pronounce it:
MOOseeka AHmor PREEmus MAYus est et OOLteemus MAYus EReet.

The two things I want to translate are:

In Great Light, The Shadows Deepen

and

Always Vigilant

For "Always Vigilant" I've gotton
--Pervigil
or
--Semper Vigilans

I also tried translating "At All Times Watching" which came out to:
--Procul Totus Vicis Vigilo

/

For "In Great Light, The Shadows Deepen" I've got:
--Intra Valde Lux lucis Umbra Profundus
or
--Intra Valde Lux Umbra Profundus
or
--Intra Lucis Umbra Profundus

As you can see, I'm not sure about the conjugation.

Could anyone help me out here? It's important that I get this all conjugated correctly so that our project text looks professional.

TIA

Semper vigilans is correct, but I would translate
"In Great Light, The Shadows Deepen" as
In luce magna umbrae profundiores factae sunt.

Hi all,

I just read the whole thread, an amazing amount of 88 pages Shocked
and worked a few things out; I've been retyping every phrase and word
translated over here, and put it in a word-document, if ya'll would like
me to put the document online, please give me a positive reaction!
However when typing this document I had a questionmark at a particular phrase:
A lover fears all that he believes
Amator omnia quod credit timet.
Did I type that over correct?

Further I'd like to have two of my own (self-made) sayings translated into Latin;
All that I want is all that is in my grasp,
but all that is in my grasp is all that I want.
Riddles enough,
riddles to solve.

-and-
Life's a game,
play the game,
or at least die trying.

And 2 sayings I've just heard somewhere before;
Redeem your past or repeat your mistakes
-and-
Forever you will be in my heart

Also I'd like to ask you, Africanus and George, if you'd advice me to
do a self study (as you are momentarily doing as I read, Africanus)
in Latin. I find myself to be kind of liking the language and all..
I'm just not sure if a self study would be fun enough..

Thanks and Cheers,
Peter

Besides; I wonder if there's an admin/forum administrator checking
this thread at the moment, but if there is; I'd like to have an account
deleted (the name of the account is Sacharus, I wanted to join the
forum but accidentally mistyped my email address, Sacharus is my
real nickname..) thanks.

I want to translate an english sentence.
But im not sure of the grammar.
"My family are (is?) my strenght"

When i use a translator on internet i get;

"Meus prosapia es meus vires"

Is this a correct translation?
Thanks!

Hi,

Would anyone be able to translate "Though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death, I shall fear no evil"

I would be really grateful.

Mort.
