Africanus Georgio plurimam salutem dicit.
Si vales, bene est et valeo.

Ave Georgie,

Nam vir sapientissimus es et conscientiam amas, auxilium tuum peto. Legi hoc carminem ab Alane de Insula scriptum (deliciae meae):

--
Omnis mundi creatura
Quasi liber et pictura
Nobis est in speculum;

Nostrae vitae, nostrae mortis,
Nostri status, nostrae sortis
Fidele signaculum.

Nostrum statum pingit rosa
Nostri status decens glosa
Nostrae vitae lectio;

Quae dum primum mane floret,
Defloratus flos effloret
Vespertino senio.
--

Quamquam 'mpeg' carminis integri a meo repertum est ... tamen carminem scriptum integrum non teneo, et non possum id reperire.

Quaeso, si libet tibi et facultatem habes, adiuva mihi de quaestione mea.

Vale sodalis!

Ave,
Quamvis sciam te non a me sed a Georgio auxilium petisse, tamen puto me Georgium irritaturum non esse, si tibi respondero, atque spero te quoque auxilium meum accepturum esse, licet id a Georgio desideraris

ecce totum carmen integrum:

Omnis mundi creatura
quasi liber et pictura
nobis est, et speculum.
Nostrae vitae, nostrae mortis,
nostri status, nostrae sortis
fidele signaculum.

Nostrum statum pingit rosa,
nostri status decens glosa,
nostrae vitae lectio.
Quae dum primo floret,
defloratus flos effloret
vespertino senio.

Ergo spirans flos exspirat
in pallorem dum delirat,
oriendo moriens.
Simul vetus et novella,
simul senex et puella
rosa marcet oriens.

Sic aetatis ver humanae
juventutis primo mane
reflorescit paululum.
Mane tamen hoc excludit
vitae vesper, dum concludit
vitale crepusculum.
Cujus decor dum perorat
ejus decus mox deflorat
aetas in qua defluit.

Fit flos fenum, gemma lutum,
homo cinis, dum tributum
homo morti tribuit.
Cujus vita cujus esse, poena, labor et
necesse
vitam morte claudere.

Sic mors vitam, risum luctus,
umbra diem, portum fluctus,
mane claudit vespere.
In nos primum dat insultum
poena mortis gerens vultum,
labor mortis histrio.

Nos proponit in laborem,
nos assumit in dolorem;
mortis est conclusio.
Ergo clausum sub hac lege,
statum tuum, homo, lege,
tuum esse respice.

Quid fuisti nasciturus;
quid sis praesens, quid futurus,
diligenter inspice.

Luge poenam, culpam plange,
motus fraena, factum frange,
pone supercilia.

Mentis rector et auriga
mentem rege, fluxus riga,
ne fluant in devia.

Vale

Ok... I'm curious... What does "Vale" mean?... another song reference.

The Mad, Merry Pranks of Robin Goodfellow
"Sing Vale, Vale, Ho Ho Ho."

And what does "devia" mean? I know someone by that name.
DeViations

vale ~ be healthy/goodbye
devia = feminine of standing out of the way/straying
in this text "devia" is plural of devium = PATHLESS TRACT

I've been thinking about getting "Knowledge is Power" tattooed on my back, but my translations look and sound awful. Anyone have any good ideas for it?

I mean, Gnaritas and Pollentia sound horrid. Any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps I can help ...

Deft:
Scientia est Potentia = Knowledge is power

Kinkydevils:
Semper angelus meus = forever my angel
Cor meum, vita mea, animus meus = my heart, my life, my soul

LuckyStar:
Tres potentiae coniunctae = three united powers
potentia trium = the power of three

Kdog402:
Deus solus potest mihi arbitrare = only God can judge me
