Dear George, could you translate this special piece for me:

I would rather be a ghost drifting by your side as a condemned soul ...

than enter heaven without you.

Because of your love I will never be a lonely spirit.

most grateful and with thanks

I'm not George, but i'm sure he'll check my translation

vellem potius spiritus fluens prope latus tuum esse,
quam ad caelum sine te intrare
propter amorem tuum nunquam spiritus solus ero.

I'm very sorry, but I forgot to translate "as a condemned soul"

should be:

vellem potius spiritus fluens prope latus tuum velut anima damnata esse...

Tempus quae omnium ērigit simītucāsum.
Time.NOM REL-NEUT.NOMs all-GEN halt.3s at.once-fall.MASC-ACCs.
Time is the thing that stops everything happening all at once.

Cūr aliī sequī passū, tē potente tuum petere?
Why another-MASC.GENs follow-INF footstep.MASC-ABLs, thou.ABL be.able-PRES.ACT.PART-ABLs your.own-ACC seek-INF?
Why follow in somebody's footsteps when you can start your own route?

Sī [rēs] fierī merēns, bene fierī meret.
If [matter.FEM-NOMs] be.done-INF merit-PRES.ACT.PART, well be.done-INF merit-2s.
If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well.

Britannicus* esse superbus
Britain-from/of-MASC.NOMs
Proud to be British.
* "Britannica" and "superba" if feminine, -ī if masc. pl. And -ae if fem. pl.

I would translate:

tempus est id, quod omnia simul agentia retinet
Cur alterius passum sequi, si potes incipere tuam propriam viam
si negotium facit uilitatem, utiliter est idem bene faci
superb/us/a esse Bitannic/um/am

us/a um/am masculine feminine
