If not is any one able to translate the following:
My heart may be fragile but my soul is unbreakable (infragilis).
Thanks x
Dear Caraloise,
It is not quite the same as your sentence. But you may say:
Anima fragilis, infragilis animus.
Kind regards,

I am trying to figure out how to translate my username - goaty girl or, alternatively, just goat girl - into Latin. Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Dear Goatygirl,
You may call yourself «Caprina». Or perhaps «Satyra» or «Satyrisca».
Kind regards,
Goldmund

Hi Everybody,
I would be very grateful if someone could translate the following into Latin for me (it's for a tattoo, if I can pluck up the courage):
'Trust the Universe'
Thank you very much
Alex
"My life for freedom"
Thanks for the help!

I don't like tattoos.
I think they are really silly and they look bad.
I love tattoos.
I think they can be meaningful and often look great.
They are meaningful, all righty.
McTag wrote:They are meaningful, all righty.
And what do you mean by that, McTag?
They mean for me that the wearer is not satisfied with nature's handiwork, and thinks (s)he can improve on it. Inevitably a sad, indelible and ugly mistake.
I'm well pleased with what God gave me - that includes a brain that appreciates art and a soul that appreciates what *I* do to make myself who I aspire to be. I've never been one of those people who think God/Nature ends at any point. That I'm a finished creation.
For me it is an indelible mark of who I was, who I am and who I choose to be. I'll stand in front of God and anyone else happy with my choice. Which includes my choice NOT to be condescending to those who think differently, or dismissive of those who choose not to be tattooed.
Please translate this into Latin
"Love is just a miserable Lie"
McTag,
I have to say I find your rather narrow minded, prejudiced opinion on those with tattoos quite amusing. Are you sure everyone who has a tattoo later views it as a mistake? Ananke certainly doesn't seem to. Are you sure everyone who has a tattoo is trying to improve on 'nature's handiwork'? I am certainly not considering having a tattoo for this reason.
I currently don't have any tattoos but am considering having a small one on the inside of my wrist to remind me of what I think is the most valuable lesson I have learned in my life so far. I am not having the tattoo for cosmetic reasons and I actually don't particularly want others to see it, which is why I am having it in a place I can easily cover up when I want to. For me my tattoo will serve as a very personal marker of a milestone in my life.
Perhaps you should have a tattoo on your wrist to remind you to be more open-minded and intelligent about other's choices, and less obnoxious.
Alex
P.S. Do you really think that 'nature's handiwork' can never be improved upon? How far does this ill thought-out opinion extend?
I suppose if I'm rude to you, then you can be rude to me.
But I don't think an expression of disapproval and distaste can be called "condescension".
I do not agree that people should be allowed to disfigure themselves, and then be allowed out in public.
Just as with unsightly buildings and other visual trauma, the city authorities should be empowered to enforce a restraint order.

Ha ha, McTag. V funny. A ban on people who cause visual trauma would surely leave you house bound? (I take it that's you in the pic.) You from anywhere near Preston as I will be calling Lancashire County Council with your fabulous restraint order idea - I wouldn't want any visual trauma while I'm out shopping

Why did I assume all here were American? This problem is worse than I thought.
People can disfigure their skins with coloured inks, load their faces with sundry metalwork, or stick bones in their noses if they want- it's a reasonably free country.
I just happen to think these activities should be done in private. It is distressing to see.

McTag, my sentiments exactly, tho I wouldn't work for a law against the practice. I keep wondering WHY people would want to treat themselves like Auschwitz inmates? Like cattle, voluntarily branding themselves with hideous images?
It's nice how you know exactly what I have tattooed upon myself, and where...
Also mctag, this is assuredly condescension, not to mention out-and-out nastiness. You have absolutely NO call to judge another human before you have even seen them. I'm guessing you're against makeup, plastic surgery, suspenders, corsets, khaki pants and speedos? For I find those far more aesthetically and socially painful than a tattoo or three.
Comparing voluntary and consensual body art to the the forcible branding/tattooing of Jews in the Holcaust is not only painfully stupid but just plain awful. Think before you compare next time.
You are most welcome to dislike the aesthetic of tattooing, I don't much care. But keep your silly judgements confined to your own brain, I find them intellectually noxious. Which is apparently a perfectly acceptable excuse to infer you are stupid, unreasonable, ugly, socially inept and intellectually 'disfigured'.
I'll stand by what I said: my tattoo and those I plan to do will stand with me before God and human as a testament to who I am.
Plus if my grandma, my priest and my mother like them, who are you to judge?
