hi, i wish to translate two phrases into latin, both very similar.
1. Lord (or God), protect A, B, C, D and E. (the letters being names)
2. Lord, have mercy and protect A. B, C, D and E.
otherwise, if anyone could think of a small protection prayer or latin phrase, on which i might include the 5 names, feel free to include it.
Thank you for reading, and for your time.
@deadbird,
1. Lord (or God), protect A, B, C, D and E. (the letters being names)
Domine, protege A et B et C et D et E
2. Lord, have mercy and protect A. B, C, D and E.
Miserere Domine, atque protege A et B et C et D et E
@merthorn,

live and die on this day
can anyone help me to translate it_!!!???
@dimired,
once more into the fray ..
iterum in rixam
into the last good fight, i will ever know
in ultimam pugnam quam sciam
live and die on this day
vivere et mori hodie
Since you guys seem to have the expert of english/latin translations on here.....
How would you translate: the old ones
or something similar to it like: those who came first
Thanks!!
@George,
That was quick, thanks a lot!
So if I wanted to say 'the pact (or covenant) of the old ones' it would be pactum senes or senes pactum? Or would that be all wrong?
@Lisette88,
pactum senum
Senum is the genetive (i.e. possesive) case of
senes
@George,
Great, thanks again, I really appreciate the help
@George,
Hi George,
Found you through searching on Google!
Would you be able to translate "Only you are my heart's desire"
Thank you SO much in advance!
@Lillith-Rose,
Te sole appetentia cordis mei es
You can omit the last word,
es ("are").
@George,
Thank you!
It is for a ring engraving, and I've just been told I can only have around 20 characters
...do you know of any way it could be done to that requirement, whilst still saying pretty much the same sentence?
@Lillith-Rose,
This will get it down to twenty (including spaces)
tu cupido cordis mei
I've dropped
es ("you are"') and
sole ("only") and used a different, shorter
word for desire.
Since this is for an engraving, please have someone else review it.
I'm not a professional Latin scholar. It's just a hobby.
Be sure to mention the word limit up front.
The folks at these two sites are helpful.

@George,
Brilliant, that is great, I will do ^_^
So what does the above translate in English?
@Lillith-Rose,
Here is the literal translation:
tu cupido cordis mei
tu --> you
cupido --> desire
mei --> [of] my
cordis --> heart
@George,
Would "my heart's only desire" be able to be translated into 20 ish characters at all? (Sorry for being so fussy!)
@Lillith-Rose,
cupido una cordis mei
comes in at 21 characters, including spaces
@George,
Would you like to help me George to translate this to Latin, please?

Which will lead you to the other side
