hi i came across this while searching online for a translation for the bedtime prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.

if anyone can translate this to latin i would REALLY appreciate it because i unfortunately am totally clueless when it comes to this kind of thing... thanks much x Very Happy

Now I lay me down to sleep.
Nunc ad dormiendum me ipse iaceo.

I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
Animam meam custodire Dominum precor.

If I should die before I wake,
Si moriar antequam expergiscor,

I pray the Lord my soul to take.
Animam meam accipere Dominum precor.

Since this is for a tattoo, please have someone else review it before
committing it to ink. I'm not a professional Latin scholar, just a guy who
does this for fun.

Let's break it down:

Pro -- For (prepostion taking the ablative)

illis -- those (3rd person plural ablative, object of the prposition "Pro")

quos -- whom (3rd person plural accusative, relative pronoun; understood
in English, but expressed in Latin)

amo - I love (1st person singular indicative of the verb "amare")

iacturam -- a throwing away, a sacrifice (singular accusative of the
noun "iactura")

faciam -- I shall make, I shall do (1st person singular future of the
verb "facere')

I would like the following translated into latin please:

"The key to life is knowledge tempered through wisdom."

I called up my old latin teacher from High School and had her look at it as well.. but I wouldn't mind a couple eyes looking at it.

Thanks!
