is there a latin translation for IN TRUTH THERE IS NO COMPROMISE
or
THE VICTIM'S RIGHTS ARE SACRED

There isn't a direct translation for "compromise" in any of the dictionaries
I use. I'll look into it some more.

THE VICTIM'S RIGHTS ARE SACRED
IUSTA VICTIMAE SACRA SUNT

lookin' fer a title
I'm looking for a latin title to a picture I'm working on... can someone give me a short translation for "evolution of the church"? I tried an automated translator and it suggested "templum evolution," but I suspect that refers to a church as a building rather than the institution.

Thanks,

Fugli

What a great thread! I'm slowly reading my way through the 267 pages (on page 101 now) and finding some really great quotes. Can someone please translate the following for me (and forgive me if they were already translated).

1. A happy wife is a happy life
2. It is what it is
3. To be heard, you must first listen
4. Open your eyes and ears by closing your mouth

The closest I can get is:
In veritate non est concessio pro concessione.

I used concessio pro concessione (consession for consession) because
that is the definition of "compromise".

"Evolution" is not a Latin word. An automated translator will commonly
leave an English word in place if the translator has no definition for it.
I'd probably use a word like "progressus" for "evolution".
The Latin word most commonly used for "church" is "ecclesia"

So: "progressus ecclesiae".

Thanks again George. You're a life saver (at least an effort saver). I posted the title along with the print in one of my shops if you want to see it - http://cafepress.com/romanesque (it's all the way at the bottom).

Literally:
Pro Eis Qui Cor Habent
-but-
Pro Eis Qui Animas Habent
may be closer to what you want to say.
cor - heart
animas - spirits or courage
