Hi George or anyone that is able to help,

Can you please translate the following Serenity Prayer into Latin for me please?

*******************************
God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference
*******************************

Thank you in advance, your help is much appreciated =)

Obviously, this is not the place to come when you have a deadline.
Oh, well. For what it's worth, here is how I would translate it.
Don't tattoo this without having someone else review it!

Audacia esse est audacia se accipere adversus non acceptus esse

How would you say

My friend ruins all her cute dresses when we go out and I am making her something with this phrase on it as a joke. Thanks!!

"Party dress destroyer"

Here's how I would translate it:

Deus, da mihi
serenitatem accipere quae mutare non possum,
audaciam mutare quae mutare possum,
et sapientiam inter ea distinguere

I was hoping someone could help me out with translating a couple words/statements?

I know their has been some differences between some of the members in regards to tattoo's so I will just say that I am planning on getting a felt marker tattoo to keep everyone at ease.

I am planning on having one of the words below "tattooed" on each of my arms going from my shoulder to my elbow so I was hoping to find a longer word to use.

With the statements below I was planning on placing it along the top of my back from shoulder to shoulder.

Good
Evil

Light
Dark

"You can't have one with out the other"
"There can be no light without dark"

I think that gives everyone a good idea of what I am looking for, so if anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to let me know.

Thanks in advance to George, Africanus (2005 and still going strong) and everyone else that has contributed to this forum. I have spent the last 5 hours review this particular topic (still on page 80) and really enjoying it. I think I will be looking into some type of course in the near future.

Thanks again.

Sorry, Sandboy. You got lost in the shuffle.

Good -- Bonum
Evil -- Malum

Light -- Lux
Dark -- Tenebrae

"You can't have one with out the other"
Unum sine altero habere non potest

"There can be no light without dark"
Lux sine tenebris esse non potest
