No, the Jean Hersholt award is an Oscar statuette. The award I'm thinking of isn't awarded every year and is a sculpted head.

Is it the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award which is given to a creative producer who has been responsible for a consistently high quality of motion picture production.

I think its a bronze head of Thalberg

Can't remember the exact year, lets go with 1974 - David Niven - ". . . he had to strip and show us his shortcomings."

Larry, I think you're right David was presenting to Liz Taylor if I remember it correctly.

How about this one :-

Tom Hanks won consecutive Best Actor Oscars for Philadelphia and Forrest Gump. Which four actors have also achieved this feat?

I thought Spencer Tracy did it and he was the only other one? Maybe that was just for best actor. I think one of the first best actress winners might have done it - maybe Luise Rainer or Mary Pickford. I'll keep thinking.

Only other one I can think of is a supporting actor in a western in the 40s, or maybe it was Treasure of Sierra Madre. Walter Huston I think. So three of them might be, and its a big might, Huston, Luise Rainer, Spencer Tracy.

Larry,

Frank Capra for It happened one night 1934 would be my guess though strictly he co-wrote it with Robert Riskin

Only Riskin got the Oscar.

The one I'm talking about did share the screenplay Oscar with one other. It was at least 20 years after It Happened One Night.
