No, the Jean Hersholt award is an Oscar statuette. The award I'm thinking of isn't awarded every year and is a sculpted head.
Is it the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award which is given to a creative producer who has been responsible for a consistently high quality of motion picture production.
I think its a bronze head of Thalberg
The following Oscar winners were natives of what country?
Mary Pickford, Marie Dressler, Walter Huston, Anna Paquin
If it's one country, I'll say Canada.
Okay, Let's try for at least two out of three. A)The year of the streaker. B)Who was on stage at the time? C) What was the Speakers comments?
Can't remember the exact year, lets go with 1974 - David Niven - ". . . he had to strip and show us his shortcomings."
Larry, I think you're right David was presenting to Liz Taylor if I remember it correctly.
How about this one :-
Tom Hanks won consecutive Best Actor Oscars for Philadelphia and Forrest Gump. Which four actors have also achieved this feat?
I thought Spencer Tracy did it and he was the only other one? Maybe that was just for best actor. I think one of the first best actress winners might have done it - maybe Luise Rainer or Mary Pickford. I'll keep thinking.
Look forward to hearing from you LArry
Only other one I can think of is a supporting actor in a western in the 40s, or maybe it was Treasure of Sierra Madre. Walter Huston I think. So three of them might be, and its a big might, Huston, Luise Rainer, Spencer Tracy.
Good try Larry, here is the list, soem surprises , thought you'd get Hepburn though !
Luise Rainer in 1936 & 1937; Spencer Tracy in 1937 & 1938; Katherine Hepburn in 1967 & 1968; Jason Robards in 1976 & 1977
Who was the first to win three Oscars in the same year for Picture (as the Producer), Director, and Writer, and what film was it?
Larry,
Frank Capra for It happened one night 1934 would be my guess though strictly he co-wrote it with Robert Riskin
He'd still have an Oscar for it...By jove!( I just love that phrase)
Only Riskin got the Oscar.
The one I'm talking about did share the screenplay Oscar with one other. It was at least 20 years after It Happened One Night.
Billy Wilder, The Apartment, 1960, Original Screenplay with I.A.L. Diamond.
You got me there LArry:
Who was the only person to win an oscar twice in one year for the same role ?
