Thank you. Smile I guess it's my turn.

Who was the first person to be directed in an Oscar winning role by a spouse?

Hmmm...assuming you specifically mean "spouse" and not lovers or significant others, I can only think of Frances McDormand for Fargo. Was there someone earlier?

You got it Tim. And I'm pretty sure Frances McDormand was the first.

Sorry for the delay...I don't think this was asked. Among the living, who has earned more Oscar nominations than anyone else?

What French film won Best Original Screenplay in 1956 even though it had no dialogue?

If thats too hard, go with which two films received the most nominations (11) without winning anything? One involved Jane Fonda, the other Steven Spielberg.

Okay, as far as I can recall, Jane Fonda had nothing to do with The Turning Point...or have I blacked out more of 1977 than I thought?

Other than Scientific and Technical and special one-time awards, what is the only Academy Award that is NOT an Oscar?

Hiama had the right answer to my earlier question (Turning Point and Color Purple), but macsm you are absolutely right - no Jane Fonda in Turning Point - I must have had a Julia moment.

equus - I don't think the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award recipient gets an Oscar.

I'm not sure about the first Best Picture winner on video, pre-awards ceremony.
