That is so true and so very sad. Todays culture has forced way too much "perfectionism" upon us. It's shoved down our throats in magazines, commercials, job performances and success, the kind of car we drive, where we live, what we wear, the diets, the gyms. It's almost a wonder that anyone hooks up with anyone else with so much at stake about not being so perfect.
30 or 40 years ago, women were adored for their natural sexy curves. Think of Marilyn Monroe, Jean Harlow..heheh, even Mae West. Men were not judged on the six pack of abs that they had or the size of his biceps.
Or going back even further and looking and Renaissance paintings. Gorgeous, full figures women depicted in the paintings of the masters...
I have yet to understand why so many feel the need to change who they are. It's never the package or the wrappings that matter in the end, it's the gifts inside each of us that truly make us beautiful anyway....
As my mama always used to say..."All that glitters is not gold"
