See, that's the problem. Serving and bartending are not my areas of expertise, just the cooking and planning. I'd be happy to hire someone for you though, to pass out the Rold Gold, and the beer. In fact, I can probably find a personal server for each guest, based on their personal preferences and needs. Just fill out these brief forms and I'll get on it right away.

Hey, I got a beer-making kit ordered for my boyfriend that it turns out he already has and doesn't use... so it's the perfect housewarming gift, dontcha think? Of course, it takes 10 days for the beer to ferment... but the union (and party) oughtta last that long, dontcha think??? Otherwise I have a hideous green vase to regift with...

An old friend of mine used to make his own beer, and it was really good, actually. He worked in the bar trade. I can't remember the brand name he was thinking about naming it, but I'll never forget the ad slogan: "Drink it, 'cause it's beer."

Apparently it's too warm except in Volcano to make beer on this island... unless you own an extra refridgerator and are willing to pay for the extra electricity... Since the couple will be in Boston, at least for part of the time... And I am seriously looking for other options to consider for my boyfriend's Christmas gift; he loved the hammock for his birthday, hated the massage oils for last Christmas and rarely uses the electric wok (shoulda kept it- I wanted it for me; I'd use it plenty!) But, I digress... Anyhoo, I'll throw in some taro chips for the party- they almost taste like potato chips, and support the island economy... Dag and Kicky, do you prefer hot-n-spicy, or sweet, or plain?

princess, no offense, but electric woks suck ass. People often wonder why their homemade stir-frys don't taste like they do in good Chinese restaurants. It's something we like to call BTUs. In a proper Chinese kitchen, you have monumental woks on gas burners with incredible heat. Everything can be done in seconds. The problem with electric woks is that they usually have safety valves installed that cut off the power and/or heat, if it threatens to short out the connection. Now...they are good for things like sukiyaki or shabu shabu. My beer-making friend did live in Montreal, where it gets plenty cold. I'll take some of those Taro chips, plain with spicy dip.
