I doubt god takes sides in football games or wars.

But both sides are comforted and strengthened by their faith that he does.

More power to them, if it works for them.

They are trained SOLDIERS not 'trained killers'.

I suppose that now the election is over, liberals like yourself don't have to disguise your true contempt for the soldiers that defend you on a daily basis.

It's wonderful to see the hypocracy of the left who claimed so many times during the election of "We support the troops, just not the war."

To quote Cindy Lauper:

"And we see you true ... colors... shining through.[/i]

(Fedral quoting Cindy Lauper is a bit much for me to take)

No hypocracy. Where's the contempt in "bring them home?" Does that sound like we don't care for them?

Fedral, with all due respect. You can support soldiers and not the war.

I think if you study the bible you will find many more passages where god is commanding his people to kill their enemies...man, woman, and child, and take their cities and land, than to put down there weapons and stay home.

Fedral

Whatever you want to call them, I feel extremely sorry for them being caught up in this mess. I also feel deep sadness for the more tham 10000 innocent Iraqis that have died as a result of the invasion.

what do soldiers do fedral? what is their primary mission? why are they taught hand to hand, how to shoot and reload fast, how to maximize enemy kill counts.....why are the most elite members of special services trained in the art of dispatching as many as possible as skillfully as possible?

I don't have contempt for our soldiers but neither do I have a one dimensional viewpoint on the world good buddy......and if I was going into a battle where projected casualties were through the roof and I knew I was going to be killing people including civilians I wouldn't have the nerve to ask Jesus to watch my ass.. I'd show some hair and some accountability and take my chances..... that would be like me going out to commit adultery and asking Jesus to make sure I found a hot piece of ass......some things Jesus doesn't particularly want to put his stamp of approval on....

Who are you or anyone else to dictate which of the Trinity they pray too.

Pretty presumptious of you, methinks.

WITH GOD ON OUR SIDE

Oh my name it is nothing my age it mean less
the country I come from is called the Midwest.
I's taught and brought up there, the laws to abide
and that land that I live in has God on its side.

Oh, the history book tell it, they tell it so well,
the cavalries charged, and the Indians fell
the cavalries charged, and the Indians died,
oh the country was young with God on its side.

Oh, the Spanish-American War had its day,
and the Civil War too was soon laid away,
and the names of the heroes I was made to memorize ,
with their guns in their hands and God on their side.

The First World War, boys, it came and it went,
the reason for fighting I never did get,
but I learned to accept it, accept it with pride,
for you don't count the dead when God's on your side.

When the Second World War it came to an end,
we forgave the Germans and we called them our friends.
Though they murdered six million, in the ovens they fried
the Germans now too have God on their side.

I've learned to hate Russians all through my whole life,
if another war starts, it's them we must fight,
to hate them and fear them to run and to hide
and accept it all bravely with God on our side.

But now we got weapons of the chemical dust,
if fire them we're forced to, then fire them we must,
one push of the button, and a shot the world wide,
and you never ask questions when God's on your side.

In a many a dark hour, I've been thinkin' about this,
that Jesus Christ was betrayed by a kiss,
but I can't think for you, you'll have to decide,
whether Judas Iscariot, had God on his side.

So now as I'm leavin', I'm weary as hell,
the confusion I'm feelin' no tongue can tell,
The words fill my head, and fall to the floor,
if God is on our side, he'll stop the next war.
