Do you sing well? (Alarmed furry Bunny face...) Thank you for the hug!

Yes, I know I am tired - but, why does it make my cough wake up?

Oh - I have been acupunctured and rhinocourted and fifth lot of antibioticked (the THING resurrected itself last week) - but I am getting better again - almost out of rec. leave though - sigh..... waaaaaaah! And the paperwork pile on my desk, and the floor, and all my filing cabinets, and such, has snow on the top of it...my only hope is a fire...

****! Shouldn't say that - a friend and his son died in a house-fire last week - Angela, the mum, and their eldest child, a girl, were both out, and are physically fine....fires ain't to joke about ...

Debs - Is there a large drop in temperature or a change in humidity-or have you got air con ?

It could be a lot of things- I favour the power of positive thinking -I absolutely refuse to let some creepy little bacterium or virus invade my body-If it does my internal farting mechanism kicks in and I gas the little bleeders to death -Very Happy

I tried that.

I tried my sovereign scotch remedy, too.

I think I am just buggered - the energiser Bunny can't bang its little drum no more - this parrot is deceased - if I didn't have a mortgage and such to feed, I would drop out for a while! The little kiddies and their mummies and their daddies and the horrible, under-resourced, abusive, pathetic system has won - I give up! Sweep me out with the rubbish, I have flung my last starfish back in the sea - I AM PINING FOR THE FJORDS!!!!

Deb,

This happens to me as well when I've had the flu or an upper respiratory virus of some duration. (when I've been really sick for a long time.) My doctor says I have a "bronchial asthma". He explains that it's like a temporary asthma as a reaction to being sick. He gives me a little bit of asthma medication like an inhaler. I use it a few times, sometimes only once, but always for a very short period of time. And this annoying symptom goes away. I hate a cough keeping me up. My experience may not be the same as yours, but I thought I'd tell you what I've worked out about it. Hope it helps.

As Elaine said to the horrible dog Jerry looked after after the old guy in the plane got sick - "You have humped your last leg!"

I am using me inhaler! (normally use it once in maybe ten years)

I have tried every remedy and trick known to human kind.

Actually, after 7 weeks, I am actually beginning to feel that it is going - I wonder if I bought it a nice airline ticket? New York? Boston? Hmmmmmmmm - Norway?

How annoying a cough is at night. It drives me crazy too. But it probably will gradually go away. It sounds like it's sure taking it's good easy time about it. And I understand your frustration. It's a bummer.

If it's after you get in bed it is because all the phelm starts settling in the back of your throat making you cough to break it loose. I think they advise to build pillows to elevate the head. I can't do that because it is such a pain in the neck. It would help also to stop smoking, then again - that's a good idea not only for the cough Smile

I had a bad sore throat/cough this last winter. I always kept throat lozenges close at hand. I'd wake up two or more times a night, so I'd grab one and suck! Glad that nasty bit is over.

Aww, Deb, I'm sorry that you've copped a 2nd helping of this poxy ailment! Sad It sounds quite debilitating.
It sounds like your body is INSISTING you rest. Telling you firmly!
So take care & try to be a bit patient, OK? And here's a steaming hot lemon drink & aspirin for you, to ensure you get a good night's sleep tonight. Very Happy

LOL! I had, in fact, been hearing them (neighbours) stirring and sounds that might have been grumbling as I coughed the nights away!

So, last night, I took half a tranquilizer - and, VOILA, only woken twice by coughing! Yay!

Life improves......

U sure it was grumbling and not moaning ????? Since they could not sleep due to all the racket you were making, maybe they employed the time "suitably" ??
