Oh Farmerman, I remember that terrible day when those children were slaughtered. I think I understand why the heifers we're so delightful. What a lovely story, and how wonderful you met the brother of the little girls.. So often when tragedy strikes we feel so isolated, the lose is so profound and so lonely.
I'm sure the children's mother got a great deal of pleasure knowing that someone remembered. What a lovely story, thank you.
One of my co-workers, a big muscular guy, was walking down the hall. He
was wearing a polo shirt which, while not tight, was certainly close-fitting.
Another guy asked him "So what's your little brother wearing to school
today?"
Hunh?
"Well that's his shirt, isn't it?"

Vivid Sydney.
I finally got to check out part of this festival of lights, colour and movement, around the Circular Quay area.
The light shows are just stunning and bring thousands of people into the city at night, in what is a really quiet time of the year. It's unusual to see the streets crowded at night at the beginning of winter. Lots of families out and about on a school night, all rugged up and kids with glow lights.
I'm trying to post some pictures on Facebook, without much success.

Once the kitchen walls were stripped to the studs, the electricians came in
to re-wire. They pointed out a pipe that would have to be moved to
implement our design.
The plumbers came in and did all they could do except move that pipe. It is
insulated with asbestos, they said. So the general contractor brought in an
asbestos guy to give us an estimate.
So far, nothing to smile about, right? Well, the asbestos guy said that the
pipe was insulated with fiberglass, not asbestos.
Big smile and sigh of relief -- asbestos removal ain't cheap.

When I watched the season finale of Peaky Blinders last night they said there would be a further two seasons.

I went into the local candy store. A group of people were discussing the horror in Orlando. A woman said that it was happening all over the world and that it could happen anywhere. A man said that it wasn't gonna happen here. Another man asked, "Why not here?" And the response was, "Dis is Noo Yawk. We shoot back."
A horrendous topic. But the Noo Yawk remark made me smile.
Made me smile too, even in these horrid circumstances.
So, what candy did you get?
My last candy bar was a Snickers.. at this point candy bars are a luxury treat, not to whine.
Sigh.. remember when I sent you fancy chocolates from our northern california victorian port town? That place was about a block and a half from our studio..
At some point, they switched their mode to vegan.. how that worked I don't know as it was slightly before I moved to New Mexico. Don't ask me about chocolate here, I'm still trying to smile.
Kinda feel sorry for you. I love chocolate, and many forms of candy; those without 100% sugar. I love Sees candy here in California. English toffee is one of my favorites.

our Tuesday night dance instructor is teaching and dancing in Chicago on the weekend
when we arrived for boot camp, she said she needed a favour
she hasn't finished her choreo and wanted to work some stuff out with us - would that be ok
hell yes!
her choreos are miles ahead of where most of us are technically but it's great to be part of the nerdy process with her - she explains why different bits of the music/lyrics lead to different decisions
we were all hooting and grinning (and beat) by the time we were done
Today was our wedding anniversary, and our son drove us to San Francisco. We visited the de Young Museum of Art at the Golden Gate Park, and went to J-town for lunch. It was a nice day.
