Having my three year old daughter call me at work to say hi and she wanted me to come home because I forgot to blow her kisses (which were blown however forgotten by her!)

Counting cards can be risky.
I 've heard of folks getting thrown out of Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas for counting cards (21).

One of them sued for getting worked over in the basement.

Actually, I have a friend in Mensa, Barbara,
who is an accomplished card counter,
but she can only do it in Atlantic City,
because she gets thrown out in Las Vegas.

The law in Atlantic City, N.J. does not permit
throwing people out for counting cards,
but Las Vegas is MUCH more fun; no comparison -- like another world.

It feels very free.

Congratulations glitterbag - there's nothing more divine than holding a baby. I'm envious. It's making me smile just imagining it. I'm happy for you.

@blueveinedthrobber,
Good for you, Blue-Veined Throbber!

Perhaps some of you have read about the geeks who recently discovered the secret iPhone file that tracks your location over months. It makes me smile to to imagine the Apple people's faces when they discover how boring my secrets are....

I was outside mulching when a woman and her little girl walked by. They couldn't see me from where I was.

I heard the little girl say, "This would be a FUN house to live in"

I looked up to see she was looking at MY house! Very Happy

I popped up and asked her "why?" For a second she was shy, until her mom said "Go ahead, I'd like to know too"

The girl said "Because you have a fairy garden."

Then I showed her my tomatoes and cucumbers in my veggie patch.

I like the celebration of life coming to the front in reflections about death.

@Thomas,
Loved that link, Thomas..

For me today, the big thing was seeing DD&R together - Dys, Diane, Roger. Good long talks plus BBQ.

Secondarily, in scanning the news, I saw a progressive I hadn't heard of (guy by the name of Avalos) running for mayor in San Francisco. Why should that make me smile at all? I still follow, in my desultory way, the goings on in Los Angeles, Eureka/Arcata, and San Francisco as I do New York and Washington, DC.. including some of the political goings on. I guess I'm always a bit perked with a good race in store.

@ehBeth,
I first found this a little hard to look at, not that I didn't approve your posting but was sad. I've changed my mind.
