Last month I had one window left on my house, the others having been broken over the years and replaced by boards. The last window of which I speak, shattered two weeks ago, the victim of an errant missle in the shape of a rock, thrown by one of my pet chimpanzees. My house is now windowless and I would have thrown away my Windex if not for the sake of the glass door on my microwave.
My cousin said something to me that made my eyes well up with tears at the moment. Made me smile in retrospect. Can't get his comment out of my head. Trying to figure out why it meant so much. I think it's because it revealed that he knew me. That he noticed something about me I didn't think he'd noticed.
I'm still cogitating on it.

It couldn't have been a "missle".
It didn't miss.
Brooke--
Good to see you posting.
I cheated and paid perfectly good money. The sun was shining today through clean windows and the money was well spent.
Gregory is 23 and the son of my good friends Tom and Jan. He was born
with CP. Tom and Jan have worked tirelessly to help him realize his full
potential. What made me smile was seeing his picture on the front page of
Monday's Boston Globe. He was featured in an article about how the disabled are
using computers to interact. Gregory operates his computer with his foot,
but can communicated by email and is quite competent with the MS Office
Suite. Now he is mentoring a disabled 13-year-old.
Awright Gregory!
G.J. Patel made me smile. I told him that I had a hard time remembering his initials. He replied. Just remember that G is for God and George. (Bush of course).
I opened my email, clicked away all the junk mail and opened the first email. It was from my cousin, they had a baby 2 weeks ago (2 WEEKS AGO!?!?!) and sent pictures. I opened the next email from a friend from Athens. His sister had a baby last night by c-section. I got back to back baby emails. How cool!
That's fun news, littlek.
I think it's cool when my friends have babies. However I think I smile even more knowing I don't have any of my own.
I'm right there with you on that one, Slappy.
I listened to an old song just now. It reminded me about my lovely childhood.
Remember those beautiful, clean windows I was bragging about?
Now I can see a summer's worth of cobwebs. I'm fairly sure that the layer of dust is no more than a year thick, but....
Household dirt doesn't count as long as you don't know it is there. Once it has been revealed, it must be removed. So it is written in the Book of Precepts for Good Women.
It's snowing.
However, it's also blowing and freezing on the roads!!!
We found someone new to clear our snow so my neighbour won't be ripping our lawn apart anymore with his plow.
We have a fairly long lane, which is our property and our neighbor (only other house on the lane) has a right of way.
When we moved here, the snow was being blown away from the lane with a tractor equipped with a large snow blower, but then neighbour man decides around 5 years ago to buy a plow for his pick up truck and do it himself. He tells us after the fact and after letting go our regular guy and he's been tearing up our lawn with it ever since.
I kept my mouth shut for my mothers sake because neighbour man is her cousin and she hates confrontation.
I had finally had it last year and told mom to brace herself for this year because this volcano was gonna blow.
Mom knew I meant business, so she called our old tractor guy and he's going to be coming back to clear our snow.
Mom then told neighbour who is now quite pissed off :-D
What a great day :-D
Throws snow ball at cjhsa

More than smile, this made me laugh today!
Eoe--
Thanks. Love your "do" for the holidays.
I went home earlier from work.
This made me smile today:
Oh, what a crap, shitty morning,
Oh, what a crap, shitty day,
I've got a crap, shitty feeling,
Nothing is going my way!
