I went swimming at this girl's house and her little brother is three. He likes to say "ay ay ay", but the mom was talking about a girl that he plays with and he says "yeah, I like going to Zoe's house, I want her." Laughing

New bedding. I contest that nothing changes one's life as much for the price as a nice new set of bedding.

I'd not gotten around to it till now and finally have a nice golden quilt and pillow set that will cause me to make my bed every day (easier than with blankets since a quilt makes itself) and to me that makes the biggest difference in the overall appearance of a room for the least effort.

Hey, call me simple but it makes me happier. Very Happy

Craven--I agree one hundred per cent. The only sensation better than climbing into a freshly made bed is the sensation of climbing into a bed made with freshly purchased bedding.....It's just decadent!

I found a note I had my sister scribble down - a quote from my niece.

We were all going to get lunch - me and sis in the front seats, two little ones in car seats in the back, with my older niece wedged between them. One of the little ones, her cousin, is only 7 months and his mother has taken to giving him a pacifier at times, it's clipped to his waistband.

We were all piled in and ready to go when she very loudly and confidently said,"He's sucking on the rubber boob, ladies!" She sounded like a sports announcer! Heehee.....

There is a scruffy looking guy who panhandles on the median strip between the Annapolis Mall and Restaurant Park. He sets up at the stop light and he holds up signs like "I need money for food", "I'm homeless or I'm a homeless veteran", but I'm guessing since it's Labor Day and everybody needs a day off, today his sign reads "Please give me a beer".
I loved it.

I was sitting in this room and I looked out my window across my little field to the cul-de-sac below it. On the other side are a couple of small brick (this is Virginia, so they must be brick) office buildings.
And this very large horse trailer pulls in and manages to turn around. And they stop. A couple gets out and, with a certain amount of effort, offload two horses. Probably not Clydesdales, not that big, but horses with very big feet and the hair around the hooves. Okay. A bit strange to see but...okay.
Then they wheel out a buckboard wagon, with spoked wheels. And then they take the horses back in and bring them out a bit later decked out in very fancy harness regalia. And they harness them to the wagon.
So I am thinking,. um, what could this be about?

I swear I am not making this up. A couple of minutes later, a truck pulls up and two guys unload from the truck and put in the wagon a piano. A PIANO! Damn! Horses, a wagon, and a piano all kind of in my back field.

It took me awhile to sort it out but Charlottesville Piano Company, located nearby. It has been in business for 100 years this month. This is all part of a feature story being written about them and how they once delivered pianos.

By dusk the horses and the wagon had been loaded back up and were gone. There was some horse manure tossed into my field and a bit more still lies on the pavement.

This makes me smile everytime I watch it. It's a video of two Vizsla's being Vizsla's and captures the wonderful goofiness of the breed. We lost our beloved 13 year old Vizsla Sadie about 18 months ago, and hopefully will be getting another crazy red dog before the end of this year. We are currently dogless since we lost our 15 year old springer this past July. Desperately seeking Sadie dogs.
