I found an eight inch black feather--slightly battered--in the driveway this morning.

It is more likely to have belonged to a crow than to a raven, but even crow feathers are suitable for symbolism.

What does a raven's feather symbolize?

Soz--

For an English major a Raven's Feather has a multitude of meanings--and this is before we get to "seen through a glass, darkly.

Crow feathers are equally evocative, but a bit less high-faultin'.

As the crow flies....eat crow...death/ending...all sorts of bleed-overs to rooster territory...

If a raven is linked with a writing desk, is the common crow couples with a computer station?

What made me smile today? Well, I'll be on my way to Chicago on Tuesday to meet some friends to enjoy some "party" time for eight days.

Included will be comedy at Second City, cruise, botanical garden, blues with Lurrie Bell, cub's baseball, museums, architectural tours, the pier, and meals with friends.

Come and join us in Chicago; most will be there from June 1 for a few days.

I dunno. Somehow the phrase "Quoth the crow, 'No way, Jose'" doesn't cut it for me.

Merry Andrew--

Crows are a bit short in the Poetic Evocative department, but ya gotta do with what ya got.

I got me a somewhat tattered crow feather.

Hiking........ smiled all the way through it. The Mayflowers, the Ladyslippers, the plant-I-don't-know-which-smells-like-honey, the resevoir, the getting lost - all smile inducing.

Went for a walk this morning to pick up a paper and see if I could get a new drawer slide at the hardware store. I had absolutely no intention of checking out any yard sales. But on the way back I saw the sign...and...someone had written BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS! at the bottom...so...

I bought eight books for $5 and six of them were on my "must read" list. What a bonanza! (I have a very long "must read" list. I'm going to have to live forever.)

Happy birthday.

You didn't get a pony, but you get all sorts of allusions on a daily basis.

Hold your dominion.

Happy birthday, kid!

*****************************

I finished editing a bitch of a project just a few minutes ago. I always smile when the doozies are done. This one gave me a going away present--a mistake that made me laugh: "Industry players are aware of the coming title wave." I fixed it; we editors have no sense of humor.

Just today, after working on my website for a collective 18 hours.

I have learned how to boost my ranking on Yahoo search engine, I have placed myself in sponsored adds according to specific cearch word combinations, AND changed the face of my webpage.. yet again

I realized that I have scheduled 5 clients...

at full price.

( that is over 600.00 in one month )

Smile?

Im so proud of myself and my work Im glowing. Very Happy
