did anyone else in the greater Bahstin area catch the sunset last night?

we were driving on comm ave, near the new BU arena, when we saw a red ball in front of a grey sky.

a camera would've really come in handy! dammit...

it was sort of like this, but without the haze --

OMG, I saw this too. This first moment I saw it it was just real big and bright but not red yet. Then as I got home I saw it was red. Reminded me of the Japanese flag. I too was wishing I'd had my camera. Absolutely amazing!

i found a better pic.
this is very close to what we saw:

I'm guessing that right now your son is the centre of things - so sun was a very appropriate typo

The picture of Bohne's baby boy made me smile.

got out of bed 5;30 made tea, walked into the garden as the sun was poking over the Sandia, picked and ate 4 tomatos, noticed two heads poking out of the hummer nest, saw two hummers eating at the autum sage (salvia) and the 4th night in a row of slow drizzle rain. It don't get any better in the albaturkey.

The other night I was in an alcohol induced passout, and I totally was taken advantage of in my sleep. For hours. What I find funny was, to put it not so bluntly, was apparently I was not a candidate for Viagra. How does this happen?

Wait...maybe this sould go in the grit & grimace thread.

Funny you say that. Because I was thinking, I had to have been dreaming about sex. However, since I was plastered, no way I could have remembered any dreams.

My Handiman came over last night and replaced the dead pump in my swamp cooler. It was 90 degrees inside my home yesterday.

I'm smiling today because it is cool inside.

I'm gonna be lazy and copy this from an email I just sent:

Oh my... my nephew can talk now ... and he talks up a storm. He was a bit overwhelmed today, so not so easy to handle, but still intermittently Very Cute. Picks up the intercom in the apartment my sis had rented for the week - you know, the one you use to talk with the person waiting outside downstairs - and just starts chatting away, leaving the breaks where the other is speaking and everything. "Yes, i'm in Budapest now, we're far away... we came by airplane... and we're not going to go back for a long time yet". Eventually, he hangs up, and my sis asks, "who were you talking to?" He, shrugging self-evidently, "Johnny" - the kid of their friends in Delft; "he's also on holidays!".

Rich imagination, that kid Razz

Sometimes, somedays, it is hard to find anything to smile about. I woke up this morning and turned on the news. There were no good stories. Just bad stories. People killing each other in the Mid-East. Forest fires raging in the western US. And on and on.
I went outside about 7 am. It was already hot and the humidity must have been around 90%
I noticed that I had a flat tire. There was a time when I could have chnaged it myself, but the years have crept by, and I sighed and decided that I didn't want try it.
I waited and waited for the bus. It normally takes me 15 minutes to drive to work. I waited for the bus. It came, eventually, and an hour a quarter later I was at work.
I was grumpy for most of the day. But one of my employees went out to my house and changed the tire, and another gave me a ride home. So I reckon I can smile about a bad day that turned out to be okay for realjohnboy.
But for the rest of the world...this looks like a bad day.
