First smile of today was just after midnight when Stefan wished me happy anniversary... And he came home early from work and cooked lunch for us and we had some nice white wine, too. In the middle of a 'normal' Sunday. I enjoyed it very much. Now Nisse and he are sleeping on the sofa look sooo cute :-)

what made me smile this morning was waking to not find a toe tag.

I'm having a rough time of it again, and it's hard to find smiles sometimes, but you all always have the best stories to cheer me up!

Two days ago, my friend Karen gave me a great smile. She knew I was sad and sick, and she went out and bought me the cutest little stuffed monkey and left him on my pillow with a little note saying she'd found him wandering and muttering in Harvard Square and just had to bring him home...

I have some amazing friends.

aaaw, that's sweet. What's wrong? You have that nasty cold?

I'm smiling because I still don't have my land legs. I got off a 7 hour boat ride about 5 hours ago and STILL I feel the ocean under me.

Marycat,

Don't feel bad. My stuffed bear, mr Shaggs is lonely for another bear, even though two of our cats sleep on his lap. I spent a week trying to be a good matchmaker for him to no avail, but I'm still looking and he's still lonely for a real bear hug.

I smiled at Sam "purring" in her sleep when I got up. I also smiled when I finally got through to a MicMac sister of mine today, after not talking to her for three years. (We both have busy schedules.) We jabbered away for over an hour. Very Happy

As a fairly new Green Card owner and prospective immigrant, I surfed the Findlaw website yesterday to explore the rights and duties I would have as a foreigner living in the United States. At one point, I entered "rights, foreigners" into their search engine. Not a lot of hits, mostly immigration regulations about procedures that already lay behind me. But the search did generate a sponsored link with an interesting headline.

"Buy and sell foreigners on Ebay!"

Americans, I've got your number! Wink

Hey, congrats, Thomas! Just watch out for the vans with "Foreigner Catcher" on the side, and RUN if you see a guy with a big net...

Congrats, Thomas!

k, I'm just run down and icky. Also, that new job didn't work out, so I'm pounding the pavement again. Things are just rough these days. I thought I had managed to push Ernest away too, but he still loves me and I am amazed. He makes me smile. He's coming to visit in a few weeks!

Yesterday my under-10 youth soccer team played its last game of the season. (That alone is worth a smile - I get big chunks of time back.) Last practice we worked on "shielding" or protecting the ball. This requires a certain amount of aggressiveness and I focussed on two boys who are great kids but always reluctant to mix it up. Both are willing to work and by the end of practice I was starting to see improvement.

Practice is one thing, a game is quite another. To my great joy I saw Zach charge up to win a 50/50 ball and pass it up the wing. Then Marc was trapped in a corner but held off his opponent until a teammate showed up to offer an outlet.

Yes!

Sounds great George, must make you pretty proud seeing your boys doing what they practiced so hard for.
