Well, the avatar of Demi Moore in the buff could be (cough) masculine to some. Smile

I figured Snood was a guy but I don't take that for granted until I ask anymore. What gender would you say my avatar is anyway?

I read in the L.A.Times a few days ago that Pat Mitchell (head of PBS) quit (well, she announced she won't be renewing her contract when it runs out in June, 2006). She said it didn't have anything to do with the "Buster" controversy (I tend to believe that).

What was really interesting, though, is that she said she had made her decision to not distribute that one controversial segment of "Buster" to the 349 PBS-member stations BEFORE receiving Spellings' letter.

She didn't expand on why.

From the L.A. Times of February 14, 2005:

Quote:
But Mitchell, concerned about how the episode would play with parents in local communities, said she had already decided not to distribute it to member stations.

She stands by her "Buster" decision, which she said she made in consultation with various member stations. "They depend upon us to distribute programming to them that serves the interest of the community. Localism is at our core. We're not a network that sends out a program and says, 'Live with it, New Orleans or Biloxi.' " She also said, "I can't make decisions as president of PBS based on my personal feelings about something."

Come on Snood. Lash is not going to insult somebody with a pronoun. Some members do use various personas other than their own photo as their avatar so you could see George Bush or Rumsfield or Cheney or Condi Rice or just about anybody put up as an avatar. Some members don't want to be identified as a specific gender and refuse to say. More than a few women use masculine avatars and some of the guys use female ones. Lash probably does look like Demi Moore, but that is Demi Moore in her avatar.

However much a likeness it may be, my avatar isn't my real picture Smile

Laughing......it was, that's my specialty. It makes the point and breaks the rules all at once. And I think my meaning was clear.

Don't let em get you down, Snood. I know you're a guy. It is hard to tell sometimes about gender when everyone is wearing combat boots and waving their sabres.

It would have been one thing if he'd just said he thought Dean's comments were stupid, but that somehow wasn't enough.

Just for the record, anyone reading with understanding would see that I bolded it for emphasis - not on the gender of the dang pronoun - but to differentiate between what one personally thought was stupid, and what someone else should think was stupid.

So, I wasn't trying to refer to anyone's gender, but thanks for answering my question - you did mean it as an insult. I just like to know what I'm dealing with.

Laughing Snood, I realize now you loath this kind of advice... but you really need to re-read your whine about that under the new light of it being retaliatory, step back and chuckle (mostly at your blunder)(the whining about that blunder I mean ).

But that spelling was innocent, too.

That snood. She is so righteous.

(I wouldn't expect it of you, snood, if I hadn't seen you do it several times in the last few years.

You're just busted.)

But, yeah. Let's move on.

I'm choosing this rather randomly as a place to put some links for people who might not venture out of politics much so might not know that Cavfancier died yesterday:
