About the choice when clicking for the Rainforest, the Prairies, or the Ocean --

There was a time when clicking for the Rainforest created more progress (square footage) than clicking for either of the other two choices. Is that still true? I've been clicking exclusively for the Rainforest for such a long time that I don't know what the situation is regarding the other two.

Walter, hello to you.

Diane, glad to see you again.

Falling chestnuts, falling leaves, falling temps- it is fall. Not too happy about it- although the colors are beautiful, a painter called Autumn.

Marlin was the thread when we were waiting for spring to come, long time ago.

Aa, Prairie clicks bring 7.4 , no difference to the Rainforest.

Waving to all the great wildclickers!

Those of us who live here in New England welcome Autumn with open arms and jotful feelings. It is the one time of the year that makes living in this absurd climate worthwhile. Our Winters are wayyyy too long, too cold and too snowy. We have no Spring here at all. There's a short-lived period that the local farmfolk refer to as 'mud season' when all that snow and ice suddenly melts and then -- BLAM!! -- it's a hot, hazy and humid Summer with flies and gnats and mosquitoes bugging you (pun intentional). But, ahh, Fall. That is the time of year that Mama Nature dolls herself up in her colorful finery and the leaves turn every shade of red and yellow. It is dazzling, unlike any place else on earth that I've ever seen. And the weather suddenly becomes bearable -- cool nights, warm days (mostly), gentle showers (unlike the cold April onslaughts). And if you live in or near a major city, it's when the new shows open, the concert season begins, the clubs again start booking Big Names and throngs of students return to the local campuses.

I live all year in anticiaption of September and October. I'll drink to that. Must rush out and get some freshly squeezed apple cider. Skol, y'all!

aktbird57 - You and your 280 friends have supported 1,529,031.0 square feet!

( can someone carry that back to the seattle buzz contingent? )

diane - you've got a team account as mmediane. if you know the password, you can keep using that account. you don't need access to the e-mail that goes with it.

ehBeth, message posted Very Happy

Merry Andrew, lovely discription of Autum in New England.

The Sierra weather warm during the day with cooler evenings - leafs haven't begun turning Autumn colors yet, but soon the the liquid ambers, silver birch, and poplars will begin glowing with each sunset -
orange, gold, and amber light filtering through pines - bringing magical
dancing light during the dusk of the day.

The most spectacular of natures paintings - Autumn

Hi, everyone...

I posted last night, but see there was a problem with the site and all was lost (thanks for the link to the explaination, Noddy!) so will try to repost what I said last night.

Welcome to the Rainforest threads, Seed!

Because I live in Washington, this is something that I've followed with interest for many years and because things are changing right now, I thought that some of you may find it interesting, too:

Mount St. Helens is waking up, so this couldn't be better timing by the park service:

Here is the link to the live cam at Mt. St. Helens. It has been off line for several months due to technical difficulties, but the camera has been replaced and is due to be back on line possibly as soon as today. The message on the site says, "The Mount St. Helens VolcanoCam will return on Monday, 27 September 2004."

Thank you Noddy, I was fully prepared to listen to the theme song from The Outer Limits for an indeterminate period of time - but, you saved me. lol

Matrix,
I have been seeing in the national news about St H. Twelve years ago I flew the camera plane for a photogrammetric engineering company located in Seattle - Walker and Associates, Inc. - and took some really outstanding pictures up close and personal of the volcano. It was smoking then - you can see the steam rising in the photo. Give them a call and ask for Mikie (she's neat) then say Mr. Patti Hampton recommended their photos. I made some nice shots from that airplane. (That's in addition to the one's from which the maps were made.)

Oh, Walter, the camera was a 158 kg Zeiss - really beautiful photo aparatus to work with.

All clicked............

Oh!!!! Jeopardy just started!!!!

Came back to say Hi, wordworker!!!!!!

All clicked. Noddy, the links were great. I don't think any pay would be high enough for me to replace defective GPS equipment right in the crater. That guy is a hero or totally insane.

Beth, my new name for care2 is diane6905. My clicks hadn't been counting for a2k, but now I'm officially in the group. YAY.
