Will Donald Trump Be Afraid To Debate Hillary Clinton?

@giujohn,
I understand what you're saying, but newly energized voters are the ones who are very happy to tell pollsters about their new found candidate. Mitt Romney learned his lesson 4 years ago. Discount pollsters at your own risk.

@giujohn,
I'd be more willing to be the complete other way.

With Hillary's ground game and voter registration efforts and transportation to voting locations, etc (in contrast to Trumps, which is basically non-existent) that the result on election day will be even MORE in favor of Clinton than the polls suggest.

If I'm a republican-leaning person but one who's not super excited about my candidate and his campaign isn't knocking on my door offering to help me request a mail in ballot or offering to drive me to a voting location or offering to help get me registered to vote or calling and reminding me to go.....well, that doesn't bode well for my chances of actually casting a vote.

But if I get a phone call in my living room and someone asks me who I support, I will say Trump...but on 11/8 I'm going to be more likely to sit on my ass and not show up.

I'm guessing that Hillary, because of her ground game, will win by greater margins than the polls suggest.

@engineer,
You have a point, some may be happy to express their new found political interest. But I will stick with my original assumption about the polls.

@maporsche,
I don't agree and here's why. From what I've seen and what I've heard others express the enthusiasm factor seems to be on the part of trump supporters not democrats for Hillary. I saw plenty of enthusiasm for Bernie Sanders but I don't think Hillary is going to be able to capitalize on that. Most Democrats who say they will vote for Hillary seem to be saying that they will vote for her but they will hold their nose while doing so.

@bobsal u1553115,
The only thing you're an expert at is cutting and pasting... You are certainly the champ at that. As far as political prediction goes we'd be better off checking with the Psychic Network than you.

I'm not talking about enthusiasm, I'm talking about the logistical ground game. I'm talking about knocking on doors and getting people to register, getting them to get mail in ballots, getting them to vote early, getting them physically to voting locations, calling and reminding them.

It doesn't matter if every Hillary voter holds their nose while casting the vote as long as there are more of them actually casting their vote.

It takes a lot more than enthusiasm to win elections (ask Bernie) and his ground game was much stronger than Trumps.

@maporsche,
I think this is crucial - and Trump seems to be doing everything in his power to ensure people get out and vote to keep him out of office.

Polling as of right now. It is, as Josh says, a freefall

@blatham,
Heard an interesting interview with a Republican strategist from Texas earlier today. He said the only thing he was sure of was that he would not be able to vote for Mr. Trump.

Texas.

@ehBeth,
That's not very shocking. After all, the GOP has given up on this election.
The strategy now is to distance oneself from Trump to try and save the House and Senate.

@panzade,
I'm afraid they are not all on board with that. It might hurt their own election chances too and I don't want the Democrats to have both houses of congress.

@snood,
I think you forget there are many people who would only vote for Clinton as a reaction to Trump. I don't talk a lot of politics around here, but haven't heard on person say they like her.

@roger,
If that was your answer to my question about why you don't want Democrats in charge in both houses of Congress, could you please rephrase? If it wasn't, would you please answer?

@ossobucotemp,
I on the other hand think the conservative Supreme Court needs to become more liberal, especially re the corporations being people with the right to vote with their billions.

@maporsche,
I'm a Hillary fan too! She has worked to help women and children most of her life, and that's all around the world. What has Trump done for other people than to scam them to make money. Trump *University, any one? Compared to Trump, Hillary is an angel.
* It was a scam to use "university" when it's not accredited.

@roger,
You havent been listening to me, have you Roger? I like her and ignore all the vitriol the conservatives have been unleashing on her for 34 years. Most people have been swayed by the opinion that hasent been backed by fact in most cases.
