@revelette2,
You're paranoid.

I have no reason to believe you are among the legion of Rubin haters nor did I suggest you were.

Stop taking everything so personally.

That is YOUR overly broad and unsubstantiated opinion isn't it FInn?

@maporsche,
No, it's actually based on quite a lot of experience.

I said it was "overly broad and unsubstantiated". Not sure what your experience has to do with it. Your post most definitely was both of those things.

I can provide a dictionary definition of each of those words if you think that'd help you understand what I wrote.

I gotta say, Trump just gave the best speech of his campaign.

Something changed.

@Finn dAbuzz,
It certainly is one of the most hypocritical speeches.

"I will never lie to you".

He then proceeds to trot out lie after lie.

All Trump had to do for people to say he made his best speech is not be such a prick, and express vague generalized regret for past prickishness. Not a high bar.

Snort. Both at your conclusion here and at your apparently extremely low bar for what constitutes a 'good speech'

@Cycloptichorn,
Trump's rating have been tanking so badly, his advisers told him to repent. He's doing a piss poor job at it.

I can't speak about the public at large, but among members of Congress, the partisan divide is now definitely larger than it had been in a very long time. The shift away from the center has not been equal on both sides of the divide though...

This astonishing chart shows how moderate Republicans are an endangered species

The polarized Congress of today has its roots in the 1970s

@nimh,
And actually, that last link in turn links to a Pew study that provides some data about the growing partisan divide among the public at large as well. It's here:

Political Polarization in the American Public: How Increasing Ideological Uniformity and Partisan Antipathy Affect Politics, Compromise and Everyday Life

Lots of good charts there too.

@nimh,
This can't be right!!!

What we've been told all during the primaries and now by Jill Stein supporters is that all democrats are to the right of the center on political ideology scales. Your charts must be out of date.

I detect sarcasm and if so, I agree with you. The Dems haven't been moving to the center. Finally...something upon which we can agree!
