Roberta, for demographic purposes -- remember, I'm operating on the premise that the producers pick a winner and an alternate or two and then make sure the winner or the alternate win -- it doesn't matter whether Rupert won within the game or not. I think he was the last winner of any kind, though it was audience choice, in which case we'd be going more towards unsympathetic and Rory.

I should check.

So far my top pics are still Rory, Scout, Ami (I think those two would be alternates for each other), and maybe possibly but probably not Julie. Chad is too obvious, BUT he has been largely under the radar so who knows.

Roberta, woohoo. Smile

Hopefully "Amazing Race" gets featured when the new season begins. I can't wait. I'm a 7-9 p.m. tv junkie w/no shame. Very Happy

I'll try to stay on top of things, Joahaeyo.

Soz, I'm beginning to think it might be Rory. Demographically speaking, he's in a demo group that's never won. Watch this. No sooner do we pick him then he's out.

Yeah, it's looking a little too obvious at this point. I'm thinking more towards Ami or Scout. Maybe maybe Chad or Julie.

I'm having a hard time putting names with faces this time. A sure sign of flagging interest. I'll check out whom you're referring to on Thursday.

Roberta, same here regarding faces to names.

I hate that I've never been good at remembering names.

Did you see the guys faces last night (11/4/04) after Rory was bounced? They're doomed and they know it.

The tribes merged. Much merriment and gorging.

The girls immediately were all over each other -- hugging, giggling, painting each other. The Lopevi guys were secure in the loyalty of their two gals. (Before the merge, Julie was putting the moves on of all people Sarge -- who didn't seem to mind.) They were nervous, but basically secure. Rory got the ear of a couple of them and said watch out!!! Don't trust 'em, don't trust any of 'em!! They're scary! Especially that Ami!!! (Cut to a shot of Ami, steely-eyed, having her face painted by Julie.)

So the guys decide that it will be Lopevi + Rory, that'll give them the advantage. Twila argues for voting Rory out first, get Ami next time. The guys seem to think this is just Twila being Twila.

Final votes -- 6 for Rory, 4 for Ami. Chad especially looked pissed as he realized Julie and Twila had broken the alliance, but all the men were like uh-oh...

People are still watching? This one is duller than Big Brother. Surely there is something better on. There's always DVD's I suppose.

I just bought Season 4 of Homicide. Now that's good TV.

Soz, Youda thunk that with Rory winning immunity for the women last week that they would have spared him this week.

It seems likely that the women will vote out the men. Maybe this will get interesting when only the women are left.

Here's what the men should've done last night: Pick out a gullible woman (my pick would've been Scout), take her aside and say, "Hey, Eliza knows she's the lowest woman on the totem pole so she said she's willing to vote with us. We need one more person and we're going to vote Ami out. Will you vote with us, and then we'll take you to the final four?" If Scout buys it, she goes back and tells the other four women that Eliza is plotting with the guys and they vote Eliza out. This would buy the men three extra days and cut the women's advantage from 6-3 to 5-3, so that the guys would only need to swing one vote to forge a tie at tribal council.

Yeah, that would've been smart.

I still think either Ami or Scout, but they both are in a position of power right now so unless there's a lot of immunity-winning, I dunno.

I liked the smuggling-back-chicken-wings maneuver. :-) Do you think that's why all the men did badly in the puzzle challenge, missing that extra kick of protein?

(Welcome, adam k.! :-) )

This is seriously the worst edition of Survivor ever. I just stopped watching a couple of episodes ago and started watching the O.C. instead. How sad is that......

I agree this series is pretty dull. I'm not cheering or jeering for anyone.

I was kind of liking Scout but after that suck up to Liza's "brilliance" last night I've completely changed my mind.

Sarge was the only guy worth a care and now he's gone.

I had a friend that got called back for two interviews to be on Suvivor (I don't recall if it was this one or the upcoming series). This guy is a total whack-bag, a real weird fellow famous for his semi-pornographic Christmas cards (sent as postcards, no less). He was told he wasn't "enthusiastic" enough.

Compared to these dullards he is Mr. Outrageous. I can only hope he lost out on the next series or I will have lost all respect for his ill-conceived behaviors.

I still think the loading the cast with lesbians thing is meant to have some sort of a payoff. The first Survivor lesbian kiss? Ami looked close to planting one on Leanne last night -- Leanne kinda veered away at the last minute.

But yeah, as of now, not that scintillating.

I liked Sarge.

(Why did CHRIS vote for him?)

One thing I do like is that Chad hasn't been getting any special favors, is just one of the crew.

I've been thinking on the lesbian angle... It was deliberately planned by CBS, or whomever makes the choices. Them body painting each other... the thing with Julie and Ami, then Julie and LeeAnn... the thing with Scout going on about how sweet Twila made her feel in her special place... Confused Apparently Julie was leaning up against Sarge the week before (missed the episode- too bad/so sad <yawn>-) so there was some sort of play on the sexuality ploy working through this tribe merge thing that hasn't been seen before...

I'm thinking that Chris voted for Sarge to buy himself some more time since Sarge was clearly the strongest of the men, so most likely to be voted off by the wimmin alliance... Maybe his vote was cast as some sort of a ploy to show loyalty? Not quite sure what he thinks he has up his sleeve to stay in the game longer than a couple more weeks unless he wins all the immunity challenges...

Sad to see Sarge go. Maybe when the last two men are gone, things will get interesting.
