@Olivier5,
It is not proven that Bannon is suggesting boats.

It IS proven that you are.

It smacks of elitism and entitlement.

I'd like to hear what he says and judge for myself. People who want to deny other people speech seem to have something to hide.

@Lash,
I never suggested any boat. You're fantasizing.

Since such laws exists in many countries (e.g. in Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany [with constitutional character], Israel, Italy, France, ... ... ...) the people of those countries seem to have a lot to hide.

Certainly you can have a different approach to Nazism than to forbid it. But in my opinion there's no uncover behind it.

They also have a duty to arrange for venues and some level of security. Beside, if they don't like the way the University treats them, they can find a venue elsewhere.

Love it or leave it comment.

They shouldn't have to go somewhere else.

That's their school.

They're being unfairly marginalized.

The default position of free speech, to me, should be protected.

When a group uses that speech to foment violence, they can ethically and legally forfeit their right to public, protected speech.

I'm concerned that this forfeiture won't be applied fairly in the current US political climate, but would support this type of policy.

Muzzling unpopular speech is cowardly and ominous.

Freedom is a fight. If they really want to hear what Bannon has to say, and if they really think that their university is not helping them make it happen, why can't they organise it by themselves? Why do they have to depend on a university?

Because they're a bunch of entitled whiners, that's why.

@Olivier5,
They are entitled to equity under the law, currently. Being ostracized and marginalized because they don't agree with the dominant political party in this country is unsupportable.

@Lash,
The constitution doesn't grant anyone a free lunch.

These guys are not actually interested in what Bannon or Milo could say. What they want is to provoke a reaction, to offend, and ideally to play the victim... Otherwise, they would find ways to make Bannon or Milo come and speak to them.

@Lash,
Why did they have to go to Berkeley if they hate its politics? Let me guess: there are no neonazi universities out there, and Trump University is fake.

I think lumping like that is unproductive.

@Lash,
I'm not lumping anything. Just saying: nobody forces them to give good money to Berkeley for their education. They can attend the Trump University if they want to.

Grateful a sensible conservative can articulate the problem at Berkeley.

I don't know Ben Shapiro's political opinions, so this is in no way an endorsement of them, but I agree with his opinions as shared about the climate and nutty behavior in Berkeley related to antifa and speech.

@Olivier5,
I personally think fighting these alt right speakers (an alt right fest is coming up at Berkley soon, or might if approved)does more harm than good. Let them talk, by their own words they will discredit themselves. Of course that doesn't mean everybody else has to remain silent in return.

Looks like when Berkeley wants to avoid violence, they can.

@revelette1,
They had to block most of the university grounds to let Shapiro speak. That's not sustainable and not healthy.

What defines Ben Shapiro as 'alt right' in your opinion?
