Why are people defending Trump's comparison to Hitler. He doesn't care.
http://www.politico.com/trump-muslims-shutdown-hitler-comparison

He only wants to ban Muslims from entering the US.

As a minority, I see Trump as a racial bigot. He has no place in any government position.

Here's some interesting opinions on Trump.

These seemingly simple posts by you and Leadfoot are monumentally valuable imo.

@maxdancona,
Hi. I'm Lash, and I'm pro-gun and pro-abortion.

(OK, I hate abortion, but I think the damage that anti-abortion laws could do to women collectively are worse than pro-abortion laws can do to children collectively.)

@Lash,
Hi. I'm Finn. I used to be pro-gun and pro-choice, but I came to a point where I couldn't accept that a right of one person extinguished a greater one of another. So now I am pro-gun and pro-life so I probably fit your stereotype of a conservative.

(I'm pro-drugs though. That should count for something)

@Finn dAbuzz,
Giving you credit for drugs.

As much as I hate abortion, I do know many women who have health-related reasons that make abortion medically necessary. I know a lot of people use abortion for birth control - and I wish there was recourse to deal with them.

I can't let the effing government take that decision from the women who need it for their lives and health, despite the ones who use it frivolously.

You'd demand the right to make that decision if babies could grow inside you - no matter what circumstances planted them there.

Anyway. Thanks for drugs Smile

That's how it should be done. It will take years, if not decades, if other Americans will agree with you.

@Lash,
I don't have a problem with abortions "for the sake of the mother's health" except this has been grotesquely distorted. "I won't be happy and that's not good for my health"

Doctors who make money on abortions, dispensing narcotics, absurd cosmetic surgery can't be trusted to be ethical.

Obviously a baby can't grow inside me so it's difficult for me to say how I would feel. But I didn't serve in the military (and I suspect neither did you) but does that disqualify me from commenting on anything involving war and peace?

I'm sympathetic to your distrust of the government, but I think this transcends that. It's a moral issue. If the fetus is a human, then all other considerations except "I might die" are, in my opinion, immoral. And as for the one that might not be, I have never met a mother who wouldn't die for her child.

@Finn dAbuzz,
I know some women would say you're disqualified from having an opinion because you don't have a uterus, but I will never be among them, fyi.

I understand your opinion.

@Finn dAbuzz,
A groups of cells that has not yet form into any kind of higher animal life is not a baby and only a possible future baby.

@cicerone imposter,
I am sure that most women had arrived at that conclusion without my aid.

More then likely that thinking had been a help also to women when mother nature abort their fetus.

As a woman can I chime in here? I CHOOSE to agree with you Bill on this subject. I choose to believe that just cuz cells are forming, does not make it life...yet. Since we have no proof of a "soul", we rely on science to tell us that until the cells form into something that is viable on its own, it is not yet life.
Theres the pure science of it...as for the social aspects? I cannot speak for any woman but myself. The only thing that makes me angry, is anyone, male or female, making a decision for what is right for my life.
I have two children, both with my husband, and I didnt really want children. I considered abortion. But, in the end, I CHOSE against it, because I knew my hisbands parents wanted grandchildren so badly. Luckily I had a great support system. I am not a drug adfict or alchoholic and I am blessed to have raised them in a middle class, safe envoronment. So I have NO right to tell someone else, that is pregnant in less then favorable circumstances, they should have that child.
And, Im sure this sounds very cynical, but if only black people were getting abortions, I doubt most pro lifers would care. Its not like you see a bunch of white protesters outside inner city clinics.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Sorry it the women who are carrying those cells/baby perhaps to be that are the damn last words on the subject.

Sorry you or no one else for that matter should try to used the power of the state be them male or female to force women to run the risks and the emotions upset to carry a fetus to full term against their will and wishes.

In other word how dare you..............trying to turn women into babies making slaves.

@Finn dAbuzz,
By the way women are no longer second class citizens that can be force to used their bodies in a manner that meet your ideals and morals.

Good luck in trying to turn them into less then human when women are assuming high power positions in society at all levels.

You can work with them and give them choices but not orders.

Quote:
WASHINGTON — The White House will nominate Gen. Lori J. Robinson of the Air Force to lead all military forces in North America, Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter said Friday. If confirmed by the Senate, General Robinson will become the first woman to head one of the United States combatant commands.

“We have coming along now a lot of female officers who are exceptionally strong,” Mr. Carter said in an interview with Politico. “Lori certainly fits into that category.”

The Defense Department has six combatant commanders who oversee military operations in different regions of the world.

General Robinson would lead the United States Northern Command, which is based in Colorado Springs and was created after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks to coordinate the military’s response to domestic threats. The highest-profile command in recent years has been the United States Central Command, which oversees military operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and the rest of the Middle East.

Mr. Carter made the announcement as the Pentagon moves forward with a series of measures designed to create greater gender equality in the military and make the services more appealing to women.

In December, Mr. Carter announced that the Pentagon would open all combat roles to women. Then in January, he announced that he was expanding maternity leave and said the Pentagon would begin a pilot program that would pay for women to have their eggs frozen to encourage them to stay in the military during their 20s and 30s, a time when many leave after giving birth.

According to figures compiled by the Pentagon, a little more than 6 percent of generals and admirals are women; 17 percent of officers are women; and 15 percent of enlisted service members are women. Out of 38 four-star generals and admirals, there are three women, including General Robinson, according to the Pentagon.

Since 2014, General Robinson has been based at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii, where she has been the commander over Air Force operations in the Pacific.

@Finn dAbuzz,
By the way what you wish to do is just the other side of the coin where men like you set up the eugenic movement in the 1920s.

After all if we have a say in if a woman must carry a fetus to term there is no logical reason why we should not have the power to stop women who we feel are unfit to have children from having them also.
