i do 50 each set. pause. do 50 more.
turn over and do pushups.

i usually do 500+ (during any commercial break on tv). I don't mean 500+ but 500+ total.
I found out several years ago ...before Brittany Spears brought her white trash side out that she also does 500 a night. Not why I did it, but found it interesting when I heard. I used to be a personal trainer as a side job in the military.
