Pack up the babies and bring the old ladies! It's time for the "Road to the
Super Bowl"!

Part One is about to commence. To join the fun and frolic, pick the
winners of the four Wild Card games. One point per correct guess and a
bonus point if you get them all. All entries for Part One must be
submitted before the start of the first Wild Card game.

Part Two begins when the Wild Cards games finish. The rules will be
posted as soon as I figure out what they are.

WILD CARD SCHEDULE (all times Eastern)

Saturday January 9
4:35 PM
Chiefs @ Texans

8:15 PM
Steelers @ Bengals

Sunday January 10
1:05 PM
Seahawks @ Vikings

4:40 PM
Packers @ Redskins

I like all the visitors, but I don't think there has ever been a wild card round where all the visitors have won. So I keep telling myself that it would be foolish to pick all the visitors. And yet, there has to be a first time, right? What to do, what to do.

Chiefs
Bengals
Seahawks
Redskins

I just found the rules from last year's game when ehBeth posted them
from the year before when realjohnboy adapted them from the year
before that. That's clear, right?

Your objective in this game is to successfully pick the Super Bowl winner.
If you can do that, you win.
But most of us won't be able to do that. Deep sighs.
Not to worry! There is more to this game!

You collect points along the way for correct picks.

You may not get the Super Bowl champion but you can end up with MORE
CUMULATIVE POINTS than most other players.

Here is how it works:

- You get 1 point for each correct pick in the 4 Wild Card games...

- Plus you get 4 points if you get all 4 games right.

Then, you get 2 points for each game you get right in the first round of
the playoffs...

and 4 points for predicting the winners in next round

and 8 points for correctly choosing the Super Bowl champion.

I tried this formula out last season. As the huckster-in-chief, my objective
was/is to keep folks interested. I have only one minor adjustment this time.

@George,
Quick question: you don't have to guess the winner of SB in advance..meaning when you submit the WC and/or submit the SB winner in the first or 2nd rounds, right?

@Ragman,
There's two parts of the game. Part One is the Wild Card Round and Part
Two is the rest of the playoffs including the Super Bowl.

For Part One, we just pick the Wild Card games. For Part Two we pick the
entire rest of the playoffs including the Super Bowl winner and final score
all at the same time.

So yes, you do have to guess the winner of the Super Bowl in advance.
