@Joeblow,
hamburger called me at work this afternoon to let me know that mrs hamburger had died earlier in the day. It was peaceful and quiet, and they were alone together - the way they've always liked things to be.

After we talked for a while he reminded me that I had work I needed to get on with. He had done the laundry before heading out to be with my mother this morning because he knew she wouldn't want things getting messy or out of control. He's my dad.

@djjd62,
The last face she saw was someone who loved her. I thought my tears had dried up. They haven't.

God bless you, Beth and hbg

I left already a note on the German thread for Mr. Hamburger.
My deepest sympathies Beth. We've seen so many pictures of "the hamburgers"
here at a2k, I feel like we've known her so well. It's comforting to know that
she passed on peacefully. My heart goes out to you and yours!

So soon? Oh no!

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Hamburger, but she always came across as a lovely persons whenever Hamburger and you mentioned her. I'm so, so sorry for you and your father.

@ehBeth,
I'm so sorry to hear of this news, Beth. I understand that it was inevitable, but it's always a shock, nonetheless.

I always enjoyed chatting with your father. He frequently spoke fondly of the trips that he and your mother took, and not that long ago, he posted some fine photos.

My condolences to you, and your father, and any other family you may have.

I hope that some time in the future we'll see Mr. H post here again. I miss him. Please give him a big hug from all of us, and to let him know we're thinking of him.

EhBeth,

I am very sorry for your loss. I do not know what to say. Your father sounds like he is being very brave. I hope both you and your father are okay.

@ehBeth,
I'm so sorry, Beth.

Thanks for letting us know.

So soon. The story of her laughing about the 1-2-3 seems like it was very recent.

I hope you have a good tight circle of support in person. We're sending much love and gentleness your way.

Big hugs.

I can not imagine losing my mother.
For some reason it feel a bit more personal to know she died with her life long partner, alone, and happy.
Yeah, you are supposed to say ' im happy to hear it' but I am not because now comes the deep, heavy chest pain of grief.

I hope that you can navigate through this while accepting all of the odd emotions that come afterwords.

Find peace where you can .............even if it is a deep fried twinkie . Wink
