JOLLY GOOD, let's hear it for housework therapy!! I heard a song the other day by a previously depressed woman, called 'Cigarettes and Housework' because they were all that kept her going in the black times.

I just put the beating up cushion theory to my son and his friend and they snootily said a game of squash was much better, especially if followed by an icy pint of lager. The young! No idea!

Housework!

Yukkkk!
An absolutely magic Sydney winter weekend, and that's what I was doing, too! I have a guest coming to stay - and I had to almost excavate the spare bedroom - not to mention raking over the rest of the place!

Yep - our friend the Prince really is a darling! I sent him a text message last night - just as the cricket finished (badly, for us!), and he replied that he had no idea - on a train heading north to the folks and a heap of spoiling! What a pity - he missed the most exciting cricket match in an age!

First couple of legs of my trip home were pretty good <grins> (see here).

Third leg, down to my sister's place where my father got as well, was very nice too. Got to play some more with my cute little nephew. Hes growing up, getting much more expressive, its cute. Runs to the couch, climbs up, gestures me to sit next to him, tugging me. Then when I do, looking sideways to me, grinning fiendishly.

That makes three cute kids in three days - my friend's eight-month old girl is the cutest too. Love 'em.

So today I finally head back to Utrecht. First to this Italian guy who lives in Kanaleneiland with his boyfriend - he's a friend of the Italian girl who sublets my apartment, and had the keys - she's on holidays herself. He's cool, wants to come over to Budapest some time. They got the cutest little dog too.

At home, tho, I found some unpleasantries <nods> (see here). Intended to hurt.

There was more unsettlement tho. <nods>. Improvised appointment at the psych. He's nice, but told me something shocking

Oh, that made it through, good (my time here on this internetcafe PC ran out, I thought Id lost that post).

Some of you may remember when, over the Christmas holidays, my therapist suddenly disappeared. I'd been seeing her a year and a half - she was really, really good. She helped me so much. Then suddenly, she was no more there. Id gone to my appointment and when I got there they explained me she was no longer working - only the day after did I get the official letter. I hadnt gotten their voicemail warning me not to come either, cause I didnt dare listen to my voicemail at the time (something re: A.).

The letter didnt say anything: just that, due to circumstances, Mrs M.B. had retreated from work, it was unclear whether she'd return, we therefore have temporarily suspended your treatment, should you have any problem with that you can contact us. Damn right I did, I was collapsing right then and they just withdrew the treatment, like that?

I got a replacement in the end, tho we didnt get far before I left (nice woman tho). I asked her what had happened with my therapist, and she told me that she had asked not to tell her clients about what was up, only that she was no longer working because of illness. I thought at first burn-out, but it was still so out of character for her. She confirmed it was not burn-out. That was it.

Now my psych (he only prescribes) told me - by coincidence mind you, only because she happened to come up in conversation - that she's died. Just now. Violent form of cancer. Took her in half a year after discovery (that was back at Christmas). The funeral is tomorrow. I cant go there.

<drops in for a sec>

Oh my.

I promised homegirl to bring some Dutch E back with me, so I tried calling my connection. But her phonenumber didnt work anymore, so I suspected something might be up. Went to her place, she opened the door, looked pretty intimidated. Apparently, they finally caught her, put her in jail for some time. Shes no longer doing it now.

Poor woman. And bugger.

Daaaaamn...

I'd only gotten as far as one of the "here" links, then got caught up there, then realized I hadn't finished this, and came back -- talk about piling on. Nice to think of you going home to Budapest, away from all that, your cozy apartment and the places and people you've gotten to know there.

How strange that your therapist wouldn't say why she had left. Dying is awful, but disappearing without a trace is, too. Perhaps she didn't want anyone to feel beholden to her, to want to help her as she was dying?

Anyway, hugs.

I just noticed the word "therapist" in sozobe's post and realized if you seperated the "e" and "r" you would have "the rapist"

Can't believe I'd never noticed that before.
